I think it was Sunday evening. I had gone to neighbors and had a coffee and visited. Neighbor's wife showed me a table that she wanted repaired. We looked at it and I finally said, "yea I should be able to fix this and with the modifications you desire". Took it apart and took the parts that she wanted fixed to my workshop. Then went into the house for the night.
Monday I got the loose leg off and decided what I needed for the repair. Found I needed some screws I didn't have so a trip to town. Got to the hardware store and was waiting for traffic to clear to make the left turn into the store parking area. Just about the time that on coming traffic would clear I got rear ended. I don't know if I was sleeping or what. But the collision didn't seem all that loud or violent. My car just kinda rolled across the road into the ditch. At this point I will have to say that God was watching because The traffic had just cleared to didn't get hit from the front while coasting into the ditch. Thank You Jesus.
Police got there and started taking notes. Talked to other person first then me. I discovered that I left in a hurry and didn't grab my driver's license. Sheriff asked for my license and I had to tell him that I forgot it at home. He just said forget it and I was able to give him the information he needed without my license. My mechanic is the one that drove the wrecker that hauled my car. Then took me home.
So now I need another car. (I didn't like that one anyways) Son said why don't I talk to the mechanic that I used at the place we moved out of. So I did. Turns out he has a 2007 Chevy Impala with the 4 cylinder engine. 65,000 miles. The mechanic has been driving it for quite a while so he knows the car and says it is in good shape.
He is delivering it on Saturday. It will be good to have a car again.
