What is truth?

We take a look at the conversations between Jesus and Pilate in John 18:38
John 18:38
Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

With all the deviation and the substitution with mans 'ideas' and 'tradition' as we see today, its getting very hard to an answer, that 'rightly dividing the word of truth'. We see how many handle truth today, basically for the sake of appearance. Many 'talk the talk' but do little of the 'walk', its a cosmetic truth for show and not for real. We find how the Jews wanted to receive the Passover, but not receive the One to whom the Passover meal pointed. Their religion was for show but not for real, basically a form of godliness but...

2 Timothy 3:5
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Jesus came to tell the truth about God, the truth in His Word, and the truth about life. So how do we find out the answer to Pilates question?

Simple, brother. We take the Word of God at face value, comparing scripture with scripture, approaching it humbly, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and then accept that as the sole standard of Truth ... whether we particularly like it or not. And, regardless of our own weaknesses, God in his absolute supreme omnipotence will, without question, most definitely sanctify us with His Word. After all, His Son asked Him to. John 17:17.

John 14:6
King James Version

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Yeshua means salvation
Yeshua is the original Aramaic/Hebrew name for Jesus, translating directly to "salvation" or "Yahweh is salvation"

Jesus Christ will save us at the end of the world because he was born of a virgin and holy spirit. And No other god will save us. These are the truths. And Jesus took sin upon himself on the cross. He is the Lamb of God.Through Jesus Christ we have forgiveness of sins.:bighug:

Pertaining to the titular inquiry, here's how Noah Webster defined "truth" in his second edition dictionary:

"1. Conformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be. The truth of history constitutes its whole value. We rely on the truth of the scriptural prophecies.

2. True state of facts or things. The duty of a court of justice is to discover the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

3. Conformity of words to thoughts, which is called moral truth.

4. Veracity; purity from falsehood; practice of speaking truth; habitual disposition to speak truth; as when we say, a man is a man of truth.

5. Correct opinion.

6. Fidelity; constancy.

7. Honesty; virtue.

8. Exactness; conformity to rule.

9. Real fact or just principle; real state of things, There are innumberable truths with which we are not acquainted.

10. Sincerity

11. The truth of God is His veracity and faithfulness.

12. Jesus Christ is called the Truth.

13. It is sometimes used by way of concession, That is, it is a truth; what you have said I admit to be true."

I am heartily enthused for any discussion of meaning and enjoy first to consult the Bible, and then whichever records and lexicons necessary to complete my validation checks and integrity verifications.

This is the most effective means I have found to practice truth like my life depends on it; it is my due service to the God Whom I adore; my reverent expression of joy in Jesus Christ.
