Think back about 20 years ago or so. Can anyone remember what life was like then? It wasn’t really that long ago, but things in our culture then were pretty different than how things are today. Imagine freezing that timeframe in one’s memory while going to sleep only to wake up the next morning to the shocking way things are now!
Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
Basically, it’s like this, “Welcome to the Freak Show,” where wrong is right, genders are haywire, evil is good, satanism is out in the open, morality is upside down, and the world is in utter chaos! Just like in the eerie Hotel California song lyric, “You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!” What kind of twisted and evil quote is that?
What a rude awakening that would be for one to recognize this reality, especially if it were ‘all of a sudden’! Hence the reason for the not-so-subtle ‘boiling frog method’ that we have been experiencing. It has been said that if a frog were to be put into boiling water all of a sudden, it would ‘high tail it right out of there,’ but if it is put into mild water and then gradually brought to a boil, it would not perceive what was happening to it and would end up being boiled to death!
2 Peter 2:7-9 “And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.”
