Venezuela's Maduro says he'd talk with Trump, as U.S. warships close in

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro indicated Monday that he is open to direct talks with the Trump administration, calling for diplomacy instead of confrontation as the U.S. Navy's most advanced aircraft carrier joined almost a dozen other American warships off his country's shores in a tense standoff.

Funny how the site of such a huge carrier can make one all of a sudden want to talk. The power a carrier and its battle group of war ships is unmatched by any other military throughout the world.

I am sure that Maduro now wants to talk, but I think that would be a mistake. Maduro is the cartel's man; in fact he may be one of their leaders. He and his entire administration need to be removed, not negotiated with.
