US to construct half a billion-dollar military base near Gaza to supervise ceasefire – report

The U.S. is planning to establish a new military base in Israel near the Gaza Strip that could house thousands of soldiers to supervise and maintain the ceasefire with Hamas, Ynet News reported on Tuesday.

According to the report that is based on information obtained by Shomrim, a nonprofit news organization, the U.S. is coordinating its plans with the Israeli government and the IDF and is already in the process of examining potential sites.

“This shows just how determined they are to be involved in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” a security source said.

This is unusual for Israel to allow such a foreign military presence on its soil. If it were in support of any other country I'd be against the US involvement, but I'm 100% for supporting Israel in any way we can. Time will tell if this move is a good thing or not.

Bad idea. Hamas would love nothing more than to kill a few infidels which would just invite a response. We can support Israel without getting our military actively involved. Some of Trump's latest moves have been strange; this, the 50 year mortgage, and the $2K payout are a few examples. He's just giving the democrats ammunition for the midterms.

A base there would be very strategic. Excellent idea.

We have military personnel all around the world, and many are in a hostile environment. Risks comes with the job.

As long as the U.S. is supporting and protecting Israel, this is a good thing.
However, if this ever changes, that military base is a beachhead and fortification against Israel.

  :amen: :amen: :thankyou: :thankyou:

FWIW, I'd go back in a heartbeat. When I had the opportunity, I was taking care of elderly Dad, and now I can't do my military job anymore [sigh]

I would too, but I don’t think there’s a RE code cripple :prophet:
