US Military Reportedly Preparing for Strikes on Drug Labs Inside Venezuela

The US is reported to be preparing for military strikes on drug labs inside Venezuela, and the planned actions may also include drone attacks on major drug traffickers.
The strikes within the Bolivarian socialist state could potentially begin in a matter of weeks.

NBC News reported:
“Strikes inside Venezuela could happen in the next several weeks, but the president has not approved anything yet, the four people said. Two of them and an additional official familiar with the discussions said that the United States’ recent military escalation is in part a result of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro not doing enough, in the administration’s view, to stop the flow of illegal drugs out of his country.”

“Asked for comment, the White House referred NBC News to this previous statement from the president: ‘We’ll see what happens. Venezuela is sending us their gang members, their drug dealers and drugs. It’s not acceptable’. The Pentagon declined to comment.”

Discussions are said to be ongoing between the US and Venezuela through Middle Eastern intermediaries.

“According to a senior administration official, Maduro has spoken to those intermediaries about concessions he would be willing to make to remain in power. The senior administration official would not specify which countries are acting as intermediaries beyond saying that they are allies.”

Venezuela’s Parliament Approves Russian Agreements Amid US Threats: Strengthening Alliances in Challenging Times

September 27, 2025

Caracas – The Venezuelan National Assembly is currently reviewing a thorough cooperation agreement with Russia, signaling a deepening of the strategic partnership between the two nations. The proposed “Agreement on Strategic Partnership and Cooperation” received initial approval last week and is now subject too further legislative scrutiny before a final vote.

Escalating Tensions with the United States
This strengthening alliance occurs against a backdrop of rising tensions with the United States. The U.S. government has increased naval activity in Caribbean waters, ostensibly to combat drug trafficking. Recent reports indicate that U.S. armed forces have engaged with three vessels allegedly involved in drug smuggling, resulting in 17 fatalities.

Washington has faced criticism for lacking conclusive evidence to support accusations of “narcoterrorism” against Venezuelan officials. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has characterized Venezuela as a nation with limited drug production and a minimal role in drug transit.

International Support for Venezuela
Russian officials, including Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, have condemned the increased U.S. military presence and reiterated their backing for Caracas. China has also voiced concerns, criticizing what it describes as “coercive and intimidating tactics” employed by the U.S. government and advocating for a cessation of military threats in the region.

In response to the perceived threat,Venezuela’s armed forces recently conducted large-scale military exercises involving naval, air force, and artillery units. Social media posts showcased military equipment, including Su-30 MK2 fighter jets.

The Caribbean is a powder ked ready to explode.
In the last few days, there has been a surge in activity on the maritime siege of Venezuela and the operation against the drug Cartels.

The Trump administration has reportedly declared – in a memo to Congress – drug cartels to be ‘unlawful combatants’, further declaring the United States to be in ‘armed conflict’ with them.

After all these developments, multiple reports note that the Department of War has assembled a force large enough to conquer territory on Venezuelan soil.

US military buildup in Caribbean sees bombers, Marines and warships converge near Venezuela

The United States has significantly increased its military presence across the Caribbean under U.S. Southern Command, deploying bombers, warships and Marines as part of an expanded campaign targeting drug-trafficking and so-called "narco-terrorist" networks operating near Venezuela.

In addition to seven strikes on boats believed to be carrying narcotics, the Trump administration has built up thousands of troops in the region.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth this month announced the creation of a new counter-narcotics Joint Task Force operating near Southern Command, saying it was established "to crush the cartels, stop the poison, and keep America safe." The task force will coordinate air, maritime and special-operations missions across the region — marking the largest U.S. military effort in the Caribbean in decades.

At least seven U.S. Navy warships and one nuclear submarine are believed to be patrolling the region.

The Pentagon has not detailed how long the buildup will last, but a New York Times report estimates about 10,000 U.S. troops are currently operating in the theater — the largest American presence in the region in decades.

Elite ‘Night Stalkers’ forces spotted near Venezuela amid military buildup: Report

President Donald Trump’s administration has reportedly deployed the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, also known as the “Night Stalkers,” in the Caribbean region near Venezuela. The deployment of the “Night Stalkers” comes as the Trump administration continues to carry out military strikes against drug cartel vessels off the coast of Venezuela and continues to increase the number of military assets in the region,

According to The New York Post, the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment uses attack helicopters such as the Army’s MH-60 Black Hawks and “Little Bird” attack helicopters to execute operations in dangerous situations across the globe. The outlet noted that the “Night Stalkers” are capable of transporting elite units, such as Navy SEALs, Delta Force members, and Army Green Berets into battle zones.

The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment’s recent training in the Caribbean comes as the Trump administration has deployed numerous military assets near Venezuela. A recent report indicated that the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group had been deployed to the U.S. Southern Command region with more than 4,500 Marines and sailors, three guided-missile destroyers, an attack submarine, a guided missile cruiser, a special operations ship, and P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft.

Addressing the possibility of U.S. military operations in Venezuela, Eva Golinger, a lawyer who advised former Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, said, “If there was a ‘probability of US military action in Venezuela’ radar, I would say it’s definitely leaning past the 75% probability at this stage, if not more, because things have never escalated to this level.”

Golinger added, “I’m waiting for the text in the middle of the night or the call that [there has been] … some type of US incursion inside Venezuela or selective bombing.”
