U.S. intelligence officials believe Israel may be preparing an independent strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, according to a CNN report released on Tuesday. The report cites multiple U.S. officials familiar with the intelligence.
“The chance of an Israeli strike on an Iranian nuclear facility has gone up significantly in recent months,” one of the sources told CNN. “And the prospect of a Trump-negotiated US-Iran deal that doesn’t remove all of Iran’s uranium makes the chance of a strike more likely.”
The intelligence report was based on intercepted Israeli communications and observations of Israeli military movements and preparations, such as air drills and munitions movement, which suggest preparations for a strike on Iranian sites.

This is either a leak that needs to be plugged and the leaker prosecuted, or it is a purposeful "leak" to encourage Iran to comply with US demands before their nuke sites get destroyed, theoretically, by Israel. I suspect it is the latter. Israel has had plans to attack Iran's nuclear sites for a very long time... When it happens, if it happens, the USA will probably be involved with dropping those massive bombs (30,000 pounds) that the US has that Israel can't use themselves because they don't possess a bomber that can carry the weight.
Nobody knows how it'll play out but I suspect that Israel will be tasked with suppression of enemy air defenses before and during the bombing runs. Both countries will likely provide air refueling and the USA might also participate in the suppression of enemy air defenses. Israel might also hit economic/infrastructure targets as payback for Iran lobbing hundreds of missiles at Israel. The latter will help enable Iran's dissident movement in their effort to topple the current govmint.
A problem I see is if the attack goes forward not only will Iran experience a nuclear fallout disaster but so will some of Iran's neighbors. Still I think better that than Israel and/or the USA experiencing the same.
