Bengaluru: The U.S. Department of Agriculture has given a conditional approval
to Zoetis to use its bird flu vaccine in poultry, the animal healthcare company said on Friday.

A conditional approval, called a conditional license, is used for emergencies,
limited market availability, or other special circumstance and is issued for
a finite period of time.

Separately, Moderna is developing a bird flu vaccine for humans and has received
about $766 million from the U.S. government for its advancement.

The company said last month it was preparing to advance its experimental shot, mRNA-1018, into late-stage trials based on preliminary data from an early- to mid-stage study.

If they didn't we'd have to get rid of all the big producers and then most people wouldn't be able to have meat in their diet because the cost would be astronomical as there just wouldn't be a whole lot of meat going to market.

Producers are very careful. At hog nurseries, workers have to shower and put on different clothes and boots before passing inside to where the animals are. The pens are kept clean. The piggies are moved to different farms to fatten them up and if they didn't get antibiotics at the proper time they'd all get sick and die.

Small farms that grow crops and have a few pigs probably don't need to worry so much.

I like watching an eagle's nest in Florida. Sadly they just lost 2 healthy chicks and the parents nearly died too- the post mortem on the babies showed bird flu. It's likely they got it from eating one of the Rohingas- another wild bird in Florida that was ill. Heartbreaking to see. The parents are finally on the mend, but they nearly died too.

I can only imagine what is being pumped into the animals. Those animals are not kept healthy for a long time before harvest because they all have a good exercise plan…..
