UK Armed Forces assisted in US seizure of Russian-registered oil tanker

Original Story on
The Washington Examiner

The U.K. military provided "enabling support" to the United States in its seizure of a sanctioned oil tanker registered in Russia, British officials said on Wednesday

The Marinera tanker, originally known as the Bella 1, was intercepted in the joint U.S.-U.K. operation after a two-week pursuit.

The British Armed Forces provided "pre-planned operational support" to the U.S. military, which boarded the Bella 1 while it sailed between the U.K. and the Arctic islands of Greenland and Iceland, the U.K. Ministry of Defense said in a statement provided by the British Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Moscow accused Washington of breaking the 1982 U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea, saying "no state has the right to use force against ships properly registered in the jurisdictions of other states."

"This ship, with a nefarious history, is part of a Russian-Iranian axis of sanctions evasion which is fuelling terrorism, conflict, and misery from the Middle East to Ukraine," Healey said. "The UK will continue to step up our action against shadow fleet activity to protect our national security, our economy, and global stability — making Britain secure at home and strong abroad."

Russian MP warns 'sink American boats' as Moscow pushes WW3 nuclear threat

A prominent figure within the Russian Duma delivered a bone-chilling warning to the United States in the wake of its military seizing two oil tankers suspected of belonging to the notorious "ghost fleet".

Aleksey Zhuravlyov, serving as first deputy head of the defence committee, went as far as floating the possibility of nuclear retaliation, citing the nation's "military doctrine" as justification.

The seizure of the Marinera, formerly known as Bella 1, was branded by him as tantamount to "an attack on Russian territory" given its Russian flag status, reports the Express.

The usual push back from Russia. However depending on what's discovered on board this could actually escalate to a diplomatic incident. Right now though it doesn't seem like much more than an annoyed irritated sound from the Russians. They'll probably do some token response- probably aimed at Britain, not the US, but unlikely to escalate.

I believe that what Trump did to Venezuela will have an impact on Russia, Iran and Turkey. Their entire war machines and economies rely on high oil prices. When they can't fund their wars and feed their populations: This intensifies the hooks in the jaw. It it makes them desperate. They can no longer afford to sit and wait. They have to move to seize resources - the spoil, because their own bank accounts are being drained by low oil prices

Saudi-Arabia, Quatar, UAE are wealthy enough to survive that price drop. But it forces them into a tighter alliance with the West and Israel to protect their market share. They are the only ones with the financial cushion to ride out the storm. This makes them even more enviable to the starving north. They become the only bank left in the neighborhood with actual liquidity. The north looks at Saudi, UAE, and the bait Israel not just as enemies, but as the only meal left.

Russia's war economy is entirely dependent on oil prices remaining high. They need oil to be above $70 a barrel to fund their military machine expansion. By flooding the market with US and Venezuelan oil, the price per barrel crashes potentially to $450. The result being the hook drags Russia. They can no longer afford a long game. They become desperate. And this forces them to look at the rich nations, not just as competitors, but as loot.

Iran survives sanctions only by selling oil on the black market at a discount. If the global price crashes, the black market price collapses to almost nothing. The result being the hook, drags Iran. If Iran goes broke, they cannot pay Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas. To survive they have to launch a direct campaign to seize the wealth of the region, the Gulf and Israel. It forces them to come down to the mountains of Israel to take a spoil because they have lost their own source of income.

It looks as if hooks are currently being placed in the jaws of Gog...

Poking the bear . . .

I think this is likely to escalate.

Trump's cutting the legs off Russia's war machine. He's going to starve them to the peace table in Ukraine. If he succeeds, the US (and the rest of the freedom-loving world) will be safer, but if we get another milquetoast/wicked leader in office after him, I fully expect WW3 (which I believe is the war that is referred to in Rev., that ushers in the rise of the antiChrist). It may be that the rapture will happen at the "last Trump." It wouldn't surprise me in the least if God decided to have a play on words in another language. (Not date setting, just musing on a possibility that makes me smile.) I find it interesting that the revival we've been praying for for years is happening right now. I think it's going to be the last one before all hell, literally, breaks loose.

And I do agree. I think this will set up Gog/Magog.

This is what a brother wrote in his newsletter today regarding the current situation:

"Many prophetic ministries and websites are claiming that the Islamic regime in Iran is on the verge of collapse and will be soon replaced by the organization headed by the exiled son of the former Shah. For multiple reasons this is highly unlikely, no matter how dire it presently looks for the Ayatollah’s in Tehran. Most importantly, when current global circumstances are taken into consideration, such a latter day national upheaval within Iran would run contrary to the writings of the Hebrew prophets when it come to the future of the Persian nation. She is slated to be a apart of a coalition of nations that will assemble in the “Latter Days” in a fateful invasion of Israel. This coalition is now in place just as foretold all those centuries ago.

When one considers that so many prophetic fulfillment’s have already occurred in recent years revealing just how near we are now to the time of great tribulation as revealed in scripture for the days just prior to the return of Christ it appears impossible for Iran to suddenly be transformed into an Israel-loving nation at this time?"

If Trump gives the green light to attack Iran, I wonder if that could be the first domino to fall in the direction of the Gog/Magog war...

I'm not ready to pigeonhole God and say that the current regime must stay in place in order for G/M to happen. Despite what I see as the lateness of the hour, it's possible that there will be a reprieve for the Iranians, in order for revival to spread. Israel is supposed to be living safely in the land when they are attacked. That can happen with the evil regime that's in Iran only if they are so weakened Israel doesn't fear them, but it can also happen if Iranian leadership is globalist, and speaking peace and friendship while thinking about joining forces with Russia to rebuild their economy.

Still praying for the people of Iran to overthrow the oppressive regime they are living under, while turning to Jesus to break their sin-chains, to live in total freedom.
