Tulsi Gabbard Boots Partisan Bureaucrats Embedded At Her Own Agency

MCLEAN, Virginia — Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard informed her office Wednesday of a 40% reduction in personnel and the wholesale closure of centers she found had politicized intelligence as part of a sweeping overhaul of the top spy office.

Months of audits by Gabbard’s handpicked team of intelligence officials has culminated in “ODNI 2.0,” as the overhaul project has been deemed, the first in the office’s history.

“Twenty years after the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) creation in response to the 9/11 intelligence failures, we stand at a crossroads,” Gabbard told staff Wednesday afternoon, according to a copy of the email viewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Gabbard told staff in the email that the ODNI programmatic review had revealed stagnant decision-making, mission creep, bloated bureaucracy and weaponized intelligence.

Big actions like this most likely take out employees who were newer at the time and who were just doing what they were being told to do, but if a person is going to be getting paid with taxpayers dollars they should be smart enough to know right from wrong and should have convictions strong enough not to do things like weaponizing intelligence and whatnot.

Gabbard has:

  • Eliminated the DEI office and staff, saving $20 million
  • Scrapped unnecessary conferences, saving $3 million or more per year
  • Nixed unnecessary program licenses, saving $1.4 million per year
  • Removed redundant secure cloud contract, saving $1.1 million per year
  • Ended unnecessary, never-ending training programs, saving $3.4 million per year
  • Reduced overhead charges on all ODNI contracts, saving eight to 12 percent of all contracts’ value
On top of aggressively pursuing recent intelligence community leakers and revoking security clearances of Biden officials and signers of the infamous Hunter Biden laptop letter, Director Gabbard has already moved to save taxpayers millions of dollars.
