'Everybody likes that we had an unbelievable history of victory when it was Department of War,' Trump told reporters in August​

"We won WWI, and we won WWII, not with the Department of Defense, but with a War Department, with the Department of War," Hegseth said in an interview Wednesday with "Fox & Friends." "As the president has said, we're not just defense, we're offense.

"We've reestablished at the Department the warrior ethos. We want warriors, folks that understand how to exact lethality on the enemy," he said. "We don't want endless contingencies and just playing defense. We think words and names and titles matter. So, we're working with the White House and the president on it. Stand by."

I find it odd logic to think that a name change would provide favor to us in war, like apparently it did in the last 2 wars, especially coming from a professed Christian.

Do you? And yet name changes in the Bible are very significant (Abram- Abraham, Jacob- Israel, Simon-Peter, etc.)
I would think that this name change will project strength, hopefully to those who would test American resolve (looking at that KGB slime Putin, among others.) And while it may or may not phase the bigger countries, it might just deter someone smaller.

I think it is more honest as well. How much action by our militaries in the past 50 years have been purely defensive? Despite the political party in power, there's a lot of foreign blood on our leader's hands.

As one article put it (that won’t allow links) made it sound like putting trust in a name change akin to putting trust in a lucky charm, rubbing a genie lamp, numerology (lucky number) etc… like taking the action of trusting in a name change to provide some kind of favor in the outcome of a war. It’s putting trust into an unseeable force, vibration or energy/power that the new name provides or that is being talked about will somehow manifest good luck, good fortune in war. Pretty much, no go areas for a Christian. I like Department of Strength.

I support Trump in 99% of things, but this seem antagonist to me. We should be Defending and not making War.

Also, we want the Epstein child rapists put in prison. That is of critical importance regardless of what Pres. Trump thinks!!!!

Great move that will motivate the troops but upset those with TDS.

I forgot to add…….Go dept of WAR. Its not just a name change, it changes the description of what we are - war fighters. Not peace makers - thats the state dept.
