Trump: Israel will ‘do what I tell them’ regarding end of Iran war, will ‘stop when I stop’

US President Donald Trump says Israel will follow his orders and halt fire if he decides to end the war against Iran.

“They’ll do what I tell them,” Trump tells Time Magazine. “They’ve been a good team player. They’ll stop when I stop. They’ll stop unless they’re provoked, in which case, they’ll have no choice, but they’ll stop when I stop.”

The remark contradicts Trump’s assertion last month in an interview with The Times of Israel that ending the war would be a “mutual” decision with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The report also recounts Netanyahu’s repeated lobbying for Trump to join a prolonged attack on the Islamic Republic. Citing an unnamed source who was in the room as Netanyahu met Trump for an hours-long meeting in Washington, it says the premier told the US president, “We’ve come this far, Donald. We have to finish what we started,” arguing Tehran was playing for time and would secretly race toward a nuclear bomb.

To me it’s sad that a majority of Israel’s news sources are as bad as liberal media in the US.

They craft a narrative from a few statements, stringing together a fearful outlook that Israel MUST obey President Trump. Uh, no.

Typical lefty news. Amplify seeming contradictions, insert unsourced gossips who …’heard’ :whisper:

Maybe what annoys me most is their sloppy journalism.

BTW, does anyone know if Israel’s Prime Minister is synonymous with Premier of Israel?
Citing an unnamed source who was in the room as Netanyahu met Trump for an hours-long meeting in Washington, it says the premier told the US president
So it would be that Prime Minister Netanyahu can be called Premier Netanyahu :noidea:

Another false story, likely comments taking out of context, trying to paint Trump in a negative light.
For clarification on the report, can you please post the context so it can be clear on what was actually said?

I see it this way, Trump is doing some good things and is showing support for Israel, but he does like being in charge, and while he may not have meant those words in a negative way, it is possible he may have said it just because he feels US is leading the military operation in the ME and doesnt want interference with what the objectives are in winning this conflict and resolving the "Iran problem" that threatens the world.

Just a thought here:

Anything we read or hear should always be taken with a grain of salt.
When we are not there to witness what is said or done, we cannot be certain whether there is truth in what we hear or read, from any source.

I appreciate God' s law of having two witnesses before condemning anyone.....

“A single witness shall not suffice against a person for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed. Only on the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses shall a charge be established"
Deuteronomy 15:19 ESV

Due to the human sin nature, we cant take what we hear or read as truth and accuracy and not take into account possibility that it may be wrong, on any perspective presented, because if we were not there to witness any report, we just dont know, and we dont want to set ourselves up for disappointment or unsettling feelings about it.
The Only source of 100% truth and accuracy we can rely on is The Word of God and God's Word cannot and will not fail us.

In this world, especially now in these last days, we get constant floods of bad news, news that is unsettling and uncomfortable to hear and read
But God's Word tells us ...

"He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD"
Psalm 112:7

When people are not biblically minded, there is no end to conflicting stories or understanding of God's plan for Israel and all who have been redeemed in Christ Jesus

The media doesnt have a biblical world view.
Israel is in unbelief and temporarily blind to God's plan through Messiah Jesus

Trump, as with any world leader dont have a biblical world view, so we always want to keep grounded in scripture to know where this world state is and where its headed, and God's final plan fulfilled for all of His children.

I think its wise to keep up with current events which we mostly get informed by the media, but its even wiser to keep in mind that no matter what we hear or read about, take it into consideration but we dont want to put complete trust in its reliability, so its better to not listen to what is said, but watch for what is done
God can give believers discernment to not believe everything we hear or read, but when we dont know for sure, , we can look to God's Word where The Lord Who knows the end from the beginning, gives us an answer to everything in life and we never have to worry or be concerned about anything coming from fallen man who we cannot trust, but our trust should be in our faithful God alone and He will keep us in His peace when we trust Him .

"Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation"
Psalm 46:3

"Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord"
Jeremiah 17:5

"You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You"
Isaiah 26:3

Regardless of what this world presents, We Can Trust our Faithful God Who has given us Hope for a glorious future where all things will be made New, through Jesus Who is The Way The Truth and The Life
Glory to God!!
