Today is the Day

By Joe Hawkins

"For He says: 'In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.' Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
2 Corinthians 6:2

The call of the Gospel is not for tomorrow—it’s for today. Paul’s words echo with urgency because salvation is a limited-time offer. The enemy’s tactic is often to convince people they have more time. But prophecy reminds us that time is running out—whether through death, the Rapture, or the unfolding judgments of God.

Every moment matters. Every conversation counts. Every heartbeat is an opportunity for someone to step from darkness into light. The day of salvation is not about convenience; it’s about eternal destiny.

If you’ve already received Christ, this truth should compel you to share Him with urgency. And if you haven’t, the message is simple: Don’t wait.

Application

This week, speak to at least one person about the urgency of salvation. Don’t assume there will be another opportunity.

Action: In your journal on Friday, reflect:

  • Who did I share the Gospel with this week?
  • How did I communicate the urgency of responding to Christ?
  • What opportunities did I seize—or miss?
Now is the time. Today is the day.

This is an excellent reminder not to put off the conversation with a loved one or friend. It is too easy to continue on with a close relationship, not wanting to risk harming it by a presentation of the gospel. But if we do so we are very much risking the eternal fate of that person. Let the idea that the gift of the gospel is a limited time offer spur you to pray for the opportunity and then act now.
