This looks like idolatry to me....

Google the video of "Mary and Christ the Redeemer in Rio". If you can't, here what it is...In Rio de Janeiro there is that big statue of Jesus holding his hands wide. Recently, for Mother's Day, and using many drones, they (I don't know who) projected an opposite and equal size image of Mary, facing Jesus. You will see her heart and Jesus's heart leave their bodies and merge into one. It's an interesting image and technically well done, impressive. But, what is the message here. To me, it is idolatry, a merging of Mary and Jesus, implying that both are needed or useful for salvation. And it takes the glory from Jesus. Another sign of the end times turning from the faith. I'm interested in your perceptions.

That is creepy Ron.

Mary/the divine feminine is on the rise worldwide to take her spot riding the beast in the tribulation period. This is just another example.

You are right @Matthew6:33

Some news commentators have pointed out that the new Pope Leo is heavily into Mary idolatry. Someone (can’t recall who) suggested that this pope will easily bridge his idolatry to Muslims who also revere Mary.

The mother child cult goes right back to the time of Nimrod when Semiramis his wife (and unfortunately also his MOTHER if the ancient texts are correct) gave birth to Tammuz purported to be their son/grandson. :yikes:

There is a lot more going on there, than I have time to relate, but Alexander Hislop's classic work The Two Babylons explains quite nicely how that mother child cult came downs thru the various nations that broke apart when God confused the languages.

Different cultures took that with them.

At the time of Ezekiel (8:14) this is seen in the "weeping for Tammuz" ritual in the springtime, which had a 40 day fasting period

Early in Rome's history around the time of Constantine that migrated into the Catholic church and became Lent

Later during the missionary work of both Catholic and Protestant missionaries, this tale was found in cultures all over the world.

While this made it easier to explain Jesus birth, it also got confusing because the tale was not some version of the gospel, but actually a retelling of Semiramis and Tammuz.

The desire of women was another name for Tammuz which also may be what Daniel is referring to.

Oh and sorry, yes it does look like idolatry! On so many levels.

In some parts of South America Mary worship is a pretty prolific thing. I think this new pope spent a lot of time in Peru.

You're both right, and this new Pope even called Mary the mother of God in his acceptance speech.
I posted that somewhere on the board. Let's see if I can find it.

Ah, here it is:

The desire of woman... does ring a bell. Very, very interesting

Nimrod supposedly died and Semiramis would have lost the throne if she didnt birth Tammuz who was supposed to be Nimrod's miraculously born son (after his death).

This is why Semiramis is worshipped, for the 'miraculous' conception.

The Catholic religion is a continuation of this. Notice it is always mother and baby.
