They call me the Candy Lady

Houston set up warming centers.

Unfortunately for me I don't think I'd be welcome to do outreach. During Harvey - a terrible flooding hurricane about 10 years ago, they put up a lot of displaced residents in the old Foleys department store at Greenspoint mall.

I showed up with my handcart and they turned me away. But I serve a MIGHTY God.

A week or so later the authorities decided to give every applying household free $1000 food stamps. Huge lines all around the parking lot thousands of people.

I showed up with a tote bag full of Scripture booklets in English and Spanish. I handed out everything, that will probably be my all time record.

God blinded the bad eyes, as I call it, and no one stopped me.

That's probably going to be my all time single day record. I didn't count.

The area was so desperate it got me started doing ",proper" Bible Handouts in the area.

I have interesting responses to very blighted neighborhoods, they trigger a desperate impulse to grab my Handcart and empty my bookshelves.

I found some Bibles in a box in the garage.

Several years ago, on a nice night, I had a copper pipe explode in the attic and flood my house. The water mediation crew packed up everything in the affected rooms and put it in storage. Including all my Bibles. Ron (my husband) had a dramatic decline mentally (he had Alzheimer's) so my hands were full for a while. (Early 2020)

I had some complete cases which I handed out when I got back to it in 2023. This one was hidden. I got bored today and thought I'd have a look, found these, and brought them in.

Coincidentally I discuss 2 different assaults, one when I was carrying a bag of 25 ESV outreach New Testaments. 🤔
