The Trinity

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

As many time as I have read this verse, I never thought of how it shows the Trinity is true. I mean I understood it was saying that Jesus is God, but it also says Jesus is with God. If you don't understand the Trinity then the statement does not make sense. It is like if I said that my wife was with me and my wife was me. What sense would that make?

It is funny how you can be shown something new about a passage years later!

No, I was just trying to differentiate between the personalities.

The Trinity is so wonderful and no matter how many gaps we might have in understanding, it is still pretty simplistic that They are God, They are Omniscient, They are Omnipotent, They are Omnipresent, They are holy, They are our Creator, and They are above all things.

I have a great book that they author took some time to outline what is often said about the Father, is said of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

It's a little tough to read b/c of the old world way it is written, but it is a blessing.

We have so much to be eternally grateful for with our Triune Godhead!

I will give you the little that I believe or my two cents but I could certainly be wrong.

Genesis1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

I believe the image and likeness of God is the trinity. Meaning three in one. We humans are also three in one. We Christians have a soul, a body and a spirit. Our soul makes the decisions, our body does the work and our spirit communicates with God.

Human Soul = God the father
Human Body = God the Word or Jesus
Human Spirit = God the Holy Spirit

Again, not saying that I am right, it just makes sense to me.
