The most terrifying detail about Noah's Ark isn't the size of the flood. It is the design of the boat.

If you look closely at the blueprints God gave Noah in Genesis 6, He was extremely specific.
He gave the exact length, width, and height. He specified the type of wood and the pitch to seal it.

In my little years, I have never thought of this!
But God left out one crucial component.
There was no steering wheel, no sail, and worse still, there was no engine. Think about how scary that is.

Noah was building a massive vessel to survive a global storm, but he had zero control over it, or over where it went.
The Ark was not designed for navigation; just for floating.

Noah’s job was to to be the Passenger, not the Captain. God was the Captain.
This is a picture of your life right now. You are trying to put a steering wheel on a situation that God wants you to simply float through.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Genesis 6:8

Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.
Genesis 6:22

Noah always encourages me!

One of the things that amazes me is how long he faithfully worked on building the arc. We only know what the Bible tells us. I wonder if there were times when he became exhausted and wanted to quit. I wonder if God might've been there sometimes to encourage him while he worked. I've got a lot of questions about faithful Noah.

I would imagine God encouraged him because not only did he build the Ark but he preached the coming flood judgement throughout that duration and Noah is one of the few servants of God who God audibly spoke directly to Noah and just in knowing God's Character He would have likely encouraged Noah when he needed it as he faced mockery while he preached the coming global flood because it had never rained before

I recall Ken Ham's outfit did some water trials with a scale model. Using the proportions given in the text.

The ark was able to always turn itself into the wind, preventing it from being blown over and the proportions were unusual with waves as well. It would always right itself regardless.
