Strange computer event this a.m.

Got on computer this morning and the Imported From IE link was missing from the top bar on computer only thing I could do is use Google that I replaced with DuckDuck, I tried and tried to reload Duck and after 40 minutes of frustration I shut everything off. Just a few minutes ago I turned the system back on and everything was still messed up, could only use Google, so I typed in the duck and hit enter and my Import from bar re emerged, I don't know what has happened but all our saved tuff is back, hope it stays put.

I have a Mac, but every so often I will accidentally do something with the keyboard and mouse that will somehow expand my screen so things at the top of the screen go off the top edge. They are not lost but just cut off from view. Maybe that’s what happened to you if your computer has that function. But weird how you turned your system off snd back on and it was still the same.

Maybe there was an update that was incomplete, interrupted, corrupt, etc.

Check your browser to make sure your default search engine, cookie settings, etc. are correct as you want/set them, to include the websites you allow more access/cookies/privileges, and websites you grant less access/cookies/privileges.

Thankful everything seems to be OK now.

Emptying the browser's cache is always a good first thing to try, followed by a reboot ... preferably a complete power off shutdown and restart rather than a simple restart. Those two things typically fix a lot of little problems that pop up out of nowhere.

Thanks Ghoti , same thing this morning, turn on computer and there is GOOGLE, so went to settings and checked the default, it had changed from duckduck back to google , so I changed it back to duckduck , rebooted system and everything is good now. Last year Google fiber was installed in everybody's front yards and customer reps are like hound dogs trying to get us to sign up for it, so far no one in our cul-de-sac has signed up for it

Double-check everything else. They're "sneaky"
