Space X Rescue

Andrea and I found it very exciting watching launch a men watching the docking. Incredible to watch! It's strange to think that when I was born Jets were only a concept and man had not even approached the edge of our atmosphere. And now we've been to the moon and we have people living in a space station outside our atmosphere.

I grew up with the Space Race :)
Monkeys, dogs, and rats in space, first man in space, first woman in space, first American to orbit, Apollo 10 burning on the launch pad, Soviet capsules crashing and killing some cosmonauts, Sputnik, Soyuz, Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, life-boating back to earth, "Houston, we have a problem," early photos from astronauts, cosmonauts, and space telescopes, the moon walk, etc., etc., etc.

One of my childhood idols was Valentina Tereshkova
(how very un-PC during the Cold War and Space Race
I wanted to be an astronaut as a little (preschool-aged) kid and Dad used to dance around the living room swooping me around, singing "astro-astro-astro-naut!" When I was a little older, Dad told me women couldn't be astronauts.
When Valentina went into space and I told him women could, too, be astronauts, he told me all Russian women looked like refrigerators
My, how times have changed.
