Socialist/communist elected mayor of New York (why?)

dwb

Well-known
Zohran Mamdani just became mayor of New York City, a self-described socialist leading America’s most capitalist city.
To some, that sounds like proof that the far left is taking over.
But that’s not what happened.

Mamdani didn’t win because New York suddenly fell in love with socialism.
He won because he captured something every politician should be listening to right now — a deep frustration that the system doesn’t feel fair anymore.
And here’s the twist: That frustration isn’t confined to struggling families or low-income voters. It’s spreading among people who are doing fine — the educated, ambitious, upwardly mobile professionals who were supposed to be living the dream but can’t shake the feeling that they’re falling behind.

What's concerning about this is that people who normally align with capitalism are now turning to the false hope of communism. If they think they are struggling now, wait until they find out their new form of government will be taking from them (the middle class) and giving to others who for whatever reason have not made the right decisions to support themselves. The middle and upper middle class will be the ones doing the suffering. The super rich can evade by simply moving wealth from one place to another, as well as moving their place of residence as well. The middle does not have that ability. They will have to sit there and take the punishment. If you move early enough you might evade the socialists, but most will still believe their new "people friendly" system will be taking from the rich (not them) and giving to the poor.

I think the voters will quickly realize the mayor does not have the power to do much to improve the lives of the middle class, only damage.

It's hard for me to understand how so many people can be so foolish. I suspect our failed school system that has dumbed down a good portion of our population may be part of it, and greed by those who are attracted by promises of free stuff may be another part of it.
I think you have nailed it, brother. Those who hate America didn't invest so much effort in our school system for nothing. And now they are reaping the benefit.

Wondering how many women voted for what will likely become Sharia law. Guess they are hoping that their husbands will be able to beat them with no consequences. Maybe they want to wear a full burka in 90 degree weather. Naturally they will be pleased to walk several steps behind their husband and oh by the way, not be allowed to own anything, only the husband will own it.

Here is the Israel central context that you might want to consider. Yishai Fleisher is an observant Jew living in the "west bank" Hebron area. Judea!!! He is a "settler", a Zionist and a strong believer in the Biblical right to the land of Israel for the Jewish people.

I think God is in this and I agree with Yishai's take.

I saw this post of his this morning and I'm going to type it in full. It's on the post section of his YouTube account. Post from Yishai Fleisher

"Dear New York City Jews,

Not even Mamdani can destroy a great city like New York in one night -- but the process has begun.

Indeed, it was a great run and you were a blessing to New York. But Jews will feel less and less comfortable in the Big Apple.

So do yourself a favour, buy real estate in the land of Israel.

It's good for your kids, it's good for your money, and it's simply the next chapter in our people's story.

Let Mamdani be a messenger of a good but hard decision:

Goodbye New York

Shalom Jerusalem.

Before the Holocaust, there was a Zionist movement, that drew many Jews out of Europe into safety. Those who remained, suffered greatly. 1/3 of the world's Jewish population died. After the Holocaust many more came.

Recently the number of Jews in Israel topped the numbers elsewhere. The 3 biggest countries are France, USA and Canada, and I can't remember off the top of my head which are the biggest.

During the years since the Holocaust a steady stream keeps coming back to the land as the Bible said.

Those on the anti-semitic far right (Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, apparently Megyn Kelly now, et al) are just fine with guys like Mamdani.
They believe Israel / Jews ultimately are the enemy to their ideal way of life in America, whatever that is.
New York holds the highest Jewry percentage in America.
Both sides want them out of America no matter how they have to accomplish it. Any method that works will do.

If only non Jewish Christians could move to Israel.

Same here. My youngest brother called me close minded for speaking out against Islam. He has never read the Quran nor bothers to ask how I came to my conclusions. It’s crazy. He’ll ask me for advice on other things but I guess in political and religious matters, I’m a dummy in his eyes. Go figure!

I believe this is accurate. It's like a witchcraft long game. Nudging people over time to believe something insane...1 inch, 1 year, 1 decade at a time. In all of that it would seem NY elections to be the postor child that indeed America has been under the influence of globalist guidence for decades. We don't go from voting conservative to voting comunisticly over night. But give us a couple of decades, and entire swaths of individuals can be swayed in pied Piper fashion.

I believe the excellently pointed out by @dwb assessment of how we lost NY is unfortunately a low hanging fruit of evidence point to tell America on itelf.

Philosphically speaking (to make a comparison using church like metaphor): Globalists are at the apostolic level & Marxists/far leftists/Communists are at the pastoral level .

Even though elections in NY went socialist (which seems like NY), it could be that there is still massive cheating in the voting system. If so it may come out later. Not sure though. NY is pretty much capable of that kind of insane left leaning perspective. Hopefully this becomes something like the auto-pen. Where as if we can prove those signature as invalid, whatever Mamdani does (if vote stolen) could also be undone. But it is likely New York is this insane.

In some ways perhaps this is why Trump might seem so sloppy and brash. Not that he is not exactly not. But in contrast to stylized philosphical "let others tell us how to think" stupid grooming motifs, Trump seems rather barbaric/rogue-ish by comparison. Perhaps a far better place to be.

As the Bible clearly reveals, Jewry has always been its own worst enemy. Like the four seasons that regularly follow each other, the Israelites and Jews repeatedly followed the same four stages: Offence, Judgment, Repentance, Restoration. Becoming cocky and self-reliant in the blessing of God they began to go their own way. They ignored the warnings and God brought judgment. In their suffering (and not until that point) they repented. God forgave them and restored them to blessing. Then the process began again.

But who are we to criticize when we do exactly the same thing? Our flesh leads each of us into the same pattern. And we are equally slow to learn. God did not tell us of the Jews repeated faults for us to criticize them but to examine ourselves. We are to learn from Bible history not just Bible theology. Surely this is the purpose of Scripture!

"ALL Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness..." (2 Timothy 3:16)

Let us each, therefore, in our own lives examine ourselves in the light of what we see happening in Scripture. Self-examination and consequent repentance will prevent the necessity of the rod of God's correction. But more than that, it will bring us closer and closer to the goal of 2 Timothy 3:16 ... which we find in the very next verse:

"... so that the man or woman of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:17)

True godliness --true Christianity-- is humbleness before our Creator. And humility is not the self-focused lowering of oneself; it is the God-focused submission of oneself before Him in order that we may each become what He created us to be and accomplish what He created each of us to accomplish. And the story of the Jews was given so that we may learn. Let us be thankful to God for this and at the same time pray for them or if compassion, that their eyes be opened. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for the day that happens is the day Messiah will enter her in victory and the world will follow the Jews in accepting Him en masse. Glory!

Really great points. Thanks Margerie. The mirroring image of Hilter to pose as an AC type is pretty loud there. Like during the rise of the literal AC, the Jews that don't flee Israel when the AC demands worship will be killed or enslaved. That 1/3rd number is pretty remarkable too when thinking upon this type of comparison. I am having a different conversation over at the Billboards Declare ‘Israel Is Ready’ as Coalition Pushes for Saudi Normalization thread. And existentially, this Jews losing 1/3rd of their population likely suggests the even greater 2/3rds version soon coming. I link that to Ez 38 (kind of magically though...lol). But it could be that the AC literal reveal bring on hyper mirror like carryout. And Israel loses 2/3rds of their population then and not at Ez 38. So yeah, just since you brought that up over here. I decided to run across the street here with a conversation being had in another county. Well said Margerie. Thanks :)

As I started to read this pastor, I was thinking, "Hmmm," so the Jews have that problem too? So immediately I came to a place to reflect that where to me it might seem "unfair" in how it might seem God hold me to great account while letting massive offenders look like they are suppose to be about their garden verity version of the flesh as they gain popularity in the Christian public eye. But in all of that I do my massive flaws as you outlined for Israel. So in one way I guess I am in good company. In another way the ultimate example shown landed Israel in partial hardening mode. So in hopes not to have that much of a leash, what you share here is true chicken broth to the sin ingrained flu. And also I can see that in the American Reformed camp, we thrived on lowering ourselves (a posture). And in some ways I have seen honest avail to God's leading in their lives. But pound for pound, that theological school (in my estimation) has groomed believers to access true humility through bad doctrine and psuedo artifice like humility. BUT even in my seeing that, there is always a layer (and a very thick and prominent one) that affirms that I am accountable before God (to some real degree) even where I might have purposed to blind myself in stupor. Even if that stupor is enforced to look like godliness. Truly a blessed post brother. I am reminded we see that cycle of the Jews very clearly in Judges...thus the need for those Judges. While all the while in the background, Ruth's humble story becomes the brightest real world lineage storyline of the literal bloodline of which the Christ like architype Judges (in fashion here a little there a little) personified for Israel. Thanks for the post brother. Amen.

Islam has been trying to conquer NY for decades. Job is now complete. It has nothng to do with communism. I lived in Dearborn, MI in the mid 80s. It was Islamic then. These days they are trying to make Sharia law the law of the land. The mayor elect is planning to tax the so called rich in NY to pay for his freebies. Good luck with that, the Jews have the $$ in NY. I would expect a good deal of them to pack up and go. Who are you going to tax then?
