Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has introduced legislation whose sole purpose is to cease FEMA funding toward the Shelter and Services Program to illegal immigrants into the country and immediately redirect those funds to hurricane relief; particularly to assist the areas affected by Hurricane Helene. This is on the heels of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claiming that FEMA had little money left to address hurricane relief and the Heritage Foundation Oversight report that shows the Biden-Harris administration has poured billions into this so-called "refugee resettlement."
Now whistleblowers have come forward alleging that the agency has not only misappropriated funds, but is withholding necessary pre-disaster aid from first responders and service members who are waiting in the wings to help the victims of Hurricane Helene.
The Mace legislation is written in simple terms, barely two pages, and limits itself to the matters at hand. Here's a thought: If Congress actually wrote direct and precise legislation such as this, they might actually get more done.
