Satan Using His Feather By Dennis Huebshman

Andy C

Well-known
In 2 Timothy 4:3-4: “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having “itching ears” they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, (4) and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” (ESV – all emphasis is mine)

Then 1 Corinthians 1:18: “For the word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.”

Reading 1 Timothy 4:1: “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times, some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons.” Then 2 Corinthians 11:14-15: “And no wonder, for even satan disguises himself as an angel of light. (15) So it is no surprise if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.”

Isaiah 5:20: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil; who put darkness for light and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

Just recently, a female pastor in Europe performed a wedding ceremony for four men. While this totally goes against God’s rules about His design of one man and one woman joined together as one flesh (Genesis 2:24), she stated it was religiously sound as they all loved one another.

Jesus stated in Matthew 19:4-6: “He answered, have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, (5) and said, therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? (6) So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Excellent article by Dennis!

Some people may have been confused by the title that references Satan's "feather". I wondered about that too because the word "feather" does not appear in the body of the article. But I believe the Holy Spirit instantly gave me the answer. Feathers tickle and that took me to a specific verse-- 2 Timothy 4:3.

"For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires."

Indeed, those who hate the truth of God's Word literally itch to hear someone who will tell them what they want to hear. And Satan is all too willing to tickle their ears with his lies and then lead them to someone who will scratch that itch. And truth be told that old serpent focuses as much (if not more) on people in churches as he does non-believers.
