Russia, China, Iran Hacking our Water

This is so annoying. My husband and I have a stash of water in jars, but that won’t last long at all. Maybe a month. Have my mom to help too. Looking into building a homemade filter system. Come Lord Jesus.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Security Agency, EPA, and other federal entities have issued numerous advisories for cyberattacks against information networks and process control systems at water and wastewater systems by nation state organizations, including the Iranian Government Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Russia state-sponsored actors, and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) state-sponsored cyber actors (known as Volt Typhoon, Vanguard Panda and other names). Foreign governments have disrupted some water systems with cyberattacks and may have embedded the capability to disable them in the future.

Very alarming.

Everything we daily depend on is vulnerable electronically, even most vehicles that we drive. I suspect that the military have hardened their systems.

But we can pray.

Back in the 90s I saw what was happening with the internet. Further I saw what could happen in a few years. For a while I would try to spread the word that all utilities should not use the internet for instrumentation and control of their processess via the internet. So now we have all our valuable society supporting processes are connected with the internet. And now we hear that China, Russia are sabotaging our systems. Well that is what we get for being lazy!

This has been going on for some time by China, but it's not surprising that Russia and Iran are also complicit in doing the same because all three have been considered adversaries of the US for a while now.
If they don't use conventional weapons against us, the next best thing is to attack our essential infrastructure from water to the electric grid to our energy resources and it can all be done through technology.
To add, I believe that the global AI dominance race is no doubt going to be used as a weapon as everything converts to using it for everything, including warfare.

WASHINGTON, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Hackers linked to the Chinese government are targeting critical U.S. infrastructure, preparing to cause "real-world harm" to Americans, FBI Director Christopher Wray told a congressional committee on Wednesday.

Water treatment plants, the electric grid, oil and natural gas pipelines and transportation hubs are among the targets of state-sponsored hacking operations, he told the House of Representatives Select Committee on competition with China.
