Day 212 of Israel at war: Rocket fire resumed on Sunday from both Gaza and southern Lebanon, causing casualties. After a direct hit was reported in the northern city of Kiryat Shmona, in southern Israel, the Kerem Shalom crossing area came under heavy rocket and mortar fire. At least 10 were reportedly wounded, some in serious-to-critical condition.
Mixed reports have emerged of a negative Hamas response to the current ceasefire-hostage deal, with one Hamas official saying that the organization has not yet officially responded and is requesting clarification from the mediators on a number of issues. Both Prime Minister Netanyahu and Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh addressed the state of the negotiations on Sunday afternoon, blaming each other for setting unreasonable demands that would scuttle the deal.
