Report: US removes demand to disarm Hamas as part of ceasefire deal

Senior US officials have shifted their position in the past two days on the Israeli demand to disarm Hamas, opting to delay the issue until after a deal to end the war is reached, the Qatari newspaper al-Araby al-Jadeed reported Friday.

According to the report, which cites one unnamed Egyptian official, the US believes the Israeli demand to expel all members of Hamas’s military wing from the Gaza Strip is unrealistic, due to the large number of fighters at the terror group’s disposal and the lack of willingness from other countries to accept them.

Washington does not believe Israel’s plan to use more military force to release the remaining hostages will work. Instead, the US is working toward a deal that secures the release of all 59 hostages in one batch. Hamas has offered to do this if Israel agrees to end the war permanently, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to do, arguing that it leaves Hamas in power.

A real estate contract ≠ an agreement between indoctrinated hatred from one peoples toward their prey.
Oh, well ... the US says, we tried.
Maybe this will be a help to encourage Israel to blow up the Western part of Iran where the nuclear sites are located. I'm pretty sure there is a prophesy about this that still exists. 👍

It's fake news. Nothing of the sort was said. Rhetoric started in an unreliable source and was picked up by others without fact checking. Adrien taught me better. Follow a possible false story to its source! Follow a sounds too good to be true story to its source! :groan:
This seems to be happening on this forum on a regular basis.

I certainly did not agree with all the rules on Rapture Forums, but one thing was good in Chris not allowing articles from unknown sources.

I'd rather have initial reports and investigate them, than to be left in the dark. There's a diverse but widespread effort in this current world to sow dissent among parties. It takes time to track stories down to their source. With some reports it's worth not posting until you do that homework. But in others it's important to get the information out there so others can pray and also investigate. I have erred on the side of caution and on the opposite side over the years. But I am glad for the freedom to make mistakes (and to be honest some "mistakes" are only in the eye of the beholder). Thus I do not fault anybody for the stories they put up.

And sometimes it's almost impossible to tell what is fact and what is propaganda. For example, I'm always suspicious when I see stories indicating that Trump is going to do something opposite to what he promised. Yet I have to bear in mind that a human being can change their mind for whatever reason. That said, with Donald Trump I tend to believe that what we might be hearing in the media --any media-- is not exactly what he is planning. He is a consummate deal maker and a card player and he holds his cards close to his vest, sometimes revealing one in order to misdirect.

Anyway, bottom line on all this: on anything from news to theology I would rather have people free to post ... and then we can seek out and correct where necessary, rather than discourage anyone from posting honest opinions or unsubstantiated news of potential importance.

Good response brother!
