Putin orders roadmap for Russian rare earths extraction by December

Russia has reserves of 15 rare earth metals totalling 28.7 million tonnes, according to the Natural Resources Ministry.

In April, United States President Donald Trump signed a deal with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that will give the US preferential access to new Ukrainian minerals deals and fund investment in the country’s reconstruction.

Russia says it is also interested in partnering with the US on rare-earth projects.

There is a LOT of change happening in Russia right now, it's done a few things lately that deserve attention. This is along those lines. More concerning is the disappearance of Sergei Lavrov, the foreign minister who has served Putin in that role for decades. A lot of key people are disappearing right now. I'm expecting something to emerge soon, not sure what.

I watch a few Russian sources similar to Konstantin Samoilov of Inside Russia, and my (Russian) sister in law has been telling me of some convulsions behind the curtains within Russia and a shut down of borders and info going in as well as coming out. That checks out with the sources I keep an eye on. The powers behind Putin in the former KGB now FSB (domestic similar to FBI) and SVR (foreign similar to CIA) plus a few other groups, those groups are very active right now. It's like there is a power structure overhaul coming soon. Meanwhile it's like watching a wrestling match under a blanket- can't tell who or what will emerge the winner.

Their relationship with China is rocky right now and Ukraine has a lot of the rare earth resources right in the area that Russia is trying to claim as the price for peace.

I was never overly concerned about Russia and China being cozy since they seem to despise each other.

Yeah it's gotten significantly worse lately which is good news for the West. They had been cooperating in the SCO and BRICS but that seems to be falling apart a bit. YAY!

BUT There are some rumours about nuclear doctrines and the use of small tactical nukes that I saw headlines of, haven't delved deep enough to put up a thread on it, but things are changing behind the former Iron Curtain again.
