My take, Bubba is right, Gallant was a problem both ways, he did his best to force the American wishes onto the Israeli leaderships plans, he was not just leaking confidential stuff to Washington.

I don't know much about Katz but Gallant was a case of political necessity for Netanyahu to keep his govt together, and now on the eve of the American election, Netanyahu is cleaning out the ties to Biden.
