A coalition of pro-life groups sent a letter to U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) on Wednesday urging the Senate to ban federal funding for abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood, for the next decade.

“The current prohibition on federal tax dollar funding for abortion businesses, which President Donald Trump signed as part of last year’s budget bill, is set to expire this Independence Day,” Fox News first reported. “With the deadline fast approaching and congressional majorities subject to change this November, the groups stressed in a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune that the lives of unborn children — and hundreds of millions in annual tax dollars — are at stake.”

In their letter, pro-life leaders told Thune that passing a ten-year ban on federal funds to abortion providers would “represent one of the most meaningful pro-taxpayer reforms Congress can enact.”

It would prevent the dems from simply reversing an Executive Order or simply adding it back in a dem budget.

My guess is the dems could pass a law to undo a law, but it would end up in court.

Final charge dropped in yearslong Harris-era case against pro-life activist​

A California judge on Wednesday cleared the final legal hurdle in the long-running prosecution of a pro-life activist who alleged in undercover videos that abortion providers were illegally profiting from fetal tissue.

"As promised, the final charge has been DISMISSED and the case completely expunged— —after a couple months' administrative delay, and a truly bizarre last-minute 'April Fool's' attempt by @PPFA and @NatAbortionFed to overturn the State's agreement," Center for Medical Progress founder David Daleiden tweeted on Wednesday, including a previous statement made on the reached settlement.

Daleiden, who alongside undercover journalist Sandra Merritt, faced 15 charges filed by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra in 2017. The charges stemmed from an investigation prompted by former California Attorney General Harris' office, who left her position as state attorney general in January 2017 after being elected to the U.S. Senate.

Sen. Josh Hawley Calls on House to Defund Planned Parenthood After Senate Rejects His Amendment​

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is calling on the House to block taxpayer funding for abortion organizations through reconciliation after the Senate rejected his amendment on Wednesday.

Hawley sent a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Thursday afternoon, warning that if a ban on taxpayer funding for abortion providers is not extended, billions in federal dollars could flow to Planned Parenthood, which also has clinics that provide sex change drugs to minors.

The current ban on federal funding going to abortion businesses is set to expire on July 4. Hawley’s amendment would have allowed Congress to ban Medicaid funds to abortion providers in the future, as long as the legislation does not increase the federal deficit between 2026 and 2035.

Hawley told Johnson, “Time is of the essence.”

“If the House fails to act immediately as part of reconciliation, billions of Federal dollars will go to Planned Parenthood and other medical ‘providers’ for hormones, puberty blockers, and irreversible treatments for minor children,” Hawley wrote in a letter first obtained by Fox News, calling the possibility “unconscionable.”
