Pics: GOP congressman introduces bill to withdraw US from NATO

TCC

Well-known

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) introduced a bill on Tuesday to withdraw the United States from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

In a Tuesday press release, Massie described NATO as a “Cold War relic” and argued that the United States should withdraw from the organization and use the money America contributes to the alliance to “defend our own country, not socialist countries.”

Zelensky 'Systematically Sabotaged' Ukraine Anti-Corruption Efforts, NYT Concludes

Over the past four years, the Ukrainian government "systematically sabotaged" oversight of the country's state-owned companies and weapons procurement processes, "allowing graft to flourish," a freshly published New York Times investigation has revealed.

The investigation details how the government of Volodymyr Zelensky sidelined outside experts from the US and EU serving on advisory boards responsible for monitoring spending, appointing executives, and preventing corruption.

The reason i include Zelensky corruption with USA NATO exit plea is that if America can bypass Ukrainian corruption, it would seem Russia wants to do business with the West (and America in particular). It would seem that the need for NATO is vanishing. Old World Globalist Elitest thinking (i. e. Zelensky) wants NATO admission. Which to me if granted would become WW3. Which is kind of the point for globalism. No WW3, no hiding from accountability. As peace gives way to expose mass world/global enterprise corruption. Corruption too big to hide if wars or pandemics are not in large play. It would appear the writing on the wall is Russian/USA shared economic interests, and a defanged Ukraine and NATO alliance. The real enemy to democracy is polite society globalism. Not differing nationalistic organic governance sponsored by a state or nation. Swallowing up Europe by unelected EU bureaucrats = nation corralling for the purpose of making each nation state a different vegetable to place in the political Vitamix blender. Disenfranchising national identity, to me, is much more dangerous (under the guise of what is "humane") than heavily ruled nation state governance. Because in the latter, at least we can start with dealing with "a people" and work from there. In the former, we are working with an enterprise system whose identity is similar to Greco-Roman's gods over the governance of lands. Dealing with demigods is not exactly a sober social exchange by nature. Just saying. Blessings.

I used to like Massie. I tend to side with his views on America sending too much aid all over the world and we should focus more on home. And in ways he had seemed over the years not to be a bought politician. I think his NATO stance is a symptom of our times. And in general, because of Massie's falling out with Trump, that suggests either theater or I believe something wrong with Massie. I know in general pastor you do not think very highly of the man. Was there a time he was more on the level? I'd be interest to hear your concerns with him if you care to share a bit. Even though i follow politics, i have a lot of blind spots...lol. Blessings.

I don't know much of anything about Massie, but I think the idea of the US leaving NATO is worth considering. The US still has interests that are tied to NATO and to our North American Defense agreement with Canada. With all the capabilities our satellites have, our ground monitoring stations may not be as important, but when it comes to the military, redundancy is a good idea.

Insofar as being aligned with ideologically similar minded nation-states, Canada and Europe have dramatically altered their course to the left while the USA under Trump has turned to the right, so there is increasing distance between the US and its current allies.

So much water has passed under the bridge that I really cannot remember anymore. Sorry, bro.
No worries. We live in an era of way too much data 24/7. Was there a time you might have liked him for a minute before though? If not no worries. I just remember that he seemed to have some good moments. In any event thanks for considering. :)
