Over 18,000 People Immigrated to Israel in the Past Year from 103 Different Countries

The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration announced that 18,696 people immigrated to Israel in the past year from 103 different countries. This represents a decrease from the previous year, when 26,211 people immigrated. According to the data, 6,094 immigrants came from Russia, about half of the immigrants settled in the Tel Aviv District (9,335) and 5,935 are young people in the age range of 19-35. The data also showed that 880 of the immigrants are educators and 922 are medical professionals. Minister of Aliyah and Integration Ofir Sofer said this is a "reminder of the desire of many Jews to be part of the State of Israel. We continue to work to strengthen aliyah."
