Nuclear Weapon: Putin will not defend Iran if US starts bombing – Russia

TCC

Well-known

Russia President Vladimir Putin won’t protect Iran if the US starts bombing.

This was disclosed by the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko.

This is coming as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently demanded a “Libya-style” solution with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei over Tehran’s nuclear program.

. . . . .

WW3?

I just got up from a nap and saw this. No to WW3! I agree with @Tall Timbers -

At least not how I've read Russia on this lately and I've been watching them quite a long time now. We had a recent thread on this Iranian missiles are loaded onto launchers in all underground missile cities and are ready for launch in which I explained how to read what is going on with Russia by who is doing the talking. This guy is low on the food chain.

Rose had the same news article in that thread, and it sounds worrisome till you interpret it. Here's what I wrote about Deputy FM Rudenko

Oh I love it. This is CLASSIC for Russia. Edited to add, the bottom line, Russia is observing and doesn't intend to get involved.

OK first, always look to see WHO delivers a "warning". If it's Putin's right hand man Medvedev, it's SERIOUS. If it was the ACTUAL Foreign Minister Lavrov, its VERY serious. If it's Putin saying it directly, it's really really serious.

The lower down the food chain the less it's serious, the more it's just keeping up appearances and this is only the Deputy Foreign Minister. Yes he reports to Lavrov, so it means something but it's a nuanced message.

So the scoop on how to interpret this- Russia is saying to all- we rattle our sabres in your general direction! (I'm misquoting a certain infamous Monte Python line)

The message to President Trump is, we are watching, we aren't happy and at this time we have no plans to intervene. (Putin may be messaging that he's feeling warm and fuzzy to Trump today and trying to overlook a threat to his buddies in Iran)

The message to Iran is even more specific and clear. We are watching, and you are on your own for now.

Lastly no matter what "position" Medvedev holds, he is always near the top of the food chain. It's not quite as important the name on the door or desk as it is to know who has Putin's trust and for what. Unless Medvedev does something dreadful that Putin feels he must be removed, (and Putin would off his granny if it suited him) then Medvedev remains extremely important to listen to.

Putin uses him whenever he wants to say something serious to the west, without actually saying it himself or getting all official by having Lavrov come out with it, because then the West would have to respond.

A Deputy FM is one step below involving Medvedev, and Medvedev is one step below Lavrov in the messaging. Semi official, but somewhat muted and subdued.

Serious but not getting involved at the present moment.

Love it. Thanks Rose!

From the little I've bothered with lately out of Russia, I don't think they are particularly concerned if Iran gets knocked down a peg or two. Putin doesn't really like Muslims at the best of times, but due to the demographics in Russia he can't afford to have a fight with Chechnya and the Chechens on his own soil, nor does he need Iran feeling like stirring the pot over in Russia and getting the home grown Russian muslim terrorists all up in a hissy fit. Yes he's buddies with Iran, but like North Korea or the Chechen army under Kadyrov (Muslim private army) he uses them for his purposes but is well aware of their explosive potential.

The Americans dealing with Iran (or Israel dealing with them for that matter) works well for Russia, as any Iranian war with the USA keeps America out of his hair over in Ukraine.

There was a little get together planned between Russia, China and Iran and I think Turkey too - and the watchers seemed to think it was a strategy session on how Iran should respond in talks with Trump. That little tea party convened right after Trump announced he'd be talking with Iran. I haven't bothered to look at what came of it if there is any gossip going about that but it's standard operating procedure for those 3 since they cooked up the SCO or Shanghai Cooperation Organization. And of course BRICS - another thing they are all members of.

There are 2 sore points for Putin dealing with the US under Trump
1: Sanctions on his economy due to the war in Ukraine. (also NATO getting too close to Russia and making Putin twitchy)
2: American dominance in the world economy. Related to point #1 and related to Russia and China's pet project with BRICS which is to topple the US Petrodollar. There is some thought that Trump's tariffs may be upsetting the BRICS plan for world dominance but that won't be solved by nukes on either side. Espionage sure, unpleasantness oh YEAH but not nukes.

finally the only nukes Putin felt like launching were suitcase nukes, the small tactical neutron bomb types that don't leave a lot of lasting radiation and that was more of a risk under Biden because Biden kept poking the Russians and looked like Biden's puppet masters were engineering that war. Because Biden and his masters are globalists, who do want a hot war with NATO. Under Trump the possibilities have faded. That would have gone off inside Ukraine, with enough distance that the neutron bomb wouldn't affect Russia too much as the winds drifted north and east.

The only hot stuff is Iran (oh and lets not forget the American nukes belonging to NATO held up in Turkey in Incirlik) and hopefully Trump won't be in a good mood to let the Mullah's spin out the talks forever.

I decided to go see what Zero Hedge said about all things USA vs Russia, China and Iran and this popped up. Sounds good- Trump is doing a divide and conquer strategy on all three. That messaging above from Russia's deputy FM lines up with Russia's watchful but staying out stance.

I'm not a super fan of Zero Hedge- they sometimes pipeline Russian propaganda but they are good for an overview of how things are going.

Here's that article from yesterday. US Geopolitical Chess: Strategies Against China, Russia, And Iran | ZeroHedge

Useful nugget from the article:
"As long as Moscow is cooperative, Trump will prefer to offer incentives. However, if Russia adopts a more rigid position, he is prepared to walk away, compelling the Kremlin to consider its alternatives—especially in light of potential betrayal by Beijing. Trump’s strategy focuses on creating a rift between Russia and China while simultaneously applying pressure on both nations."

The reason this is important, quite apart from splitting up this nasty threesome, is to stop BRICS from continuing to provide an alternate currency. BRICS is a threat to American hegemony in geopolitics by removing America's Petrodollar as the worlds reserve currency and the one that everyone uses to go back and forth in other currencies in other countries. Tariffs pull countries like India back into America's orbit by using trade deals that I think will be a deterrent to countries like India going ahead full speed in the BRICS for example. Maybe. Just me thinking about the possibilities.
