Very interesting article, worth the time to read.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1 Cor 15:50-53
Greetings my brothers and sisters. I want to take a moment to thank our brother Pete for this opportunity to share some prophetic thoughts periodically with you on his wonderful forum. Hopefully, as the Lord sees fit, I will be able to write some thought-provoking items here pertaining to these last days in which we live.
I find myself intrigued by Solomon’s words in Ecclesiastes 1:8-9 and they normally form the basis of my study of both history and Scripture. Solomon in his wisdom made it clear that history does indeed repeat itself.
8 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.
9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
With this passage always somewhere in my mind, I like to use it in my approach to the study of history and understanding the ways God works through His written word sovereignly through time. God uses parallel situations, Foreshadowing and typology regularly to show us how things were, and how they will be again.
With that in mind, I have long been inquisitive about Jesus' words in Matthew 24.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
And … Jesus' words in Luke 17.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
