Narrow is the Gate

Goodboy

Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
Narrow is the Gate

First let me clearly state that “The percentage of people saved” is a very minor point and should not cause any Christians to be in division. Satan loves to bring up a point with hopes to divide us. I am not saying it cannot or should not be discussed, just that it should not cause division among Christians. I have my opinion, but have no need to convince anyone that I am correct. My opinion is that more people will be saved than those that won’t.

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I and any true Christian should believe that acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior is the only way to be saved. Anyone that does not believe that, is most likely not saved. So yes “narrow is the way”, meaning there is only one way but many so called paths. Yes, there are “few that find it” which is why we need missionary and Christians sharing the Gospel. Some “few” people actually seek and find God and Jesus on their own. However, most of the time the Gospel comes to them. While my experience does not prove a thing, I can say that I did not find Christ, he found me.

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

In Matthew 7:16, Jesus says “you will know them by their fruits”. Well who is the “them” he is referring to? Well Matthew 7:15 tells us “false prophets”. These verses are not talking about salvation, just to be careful who you follow.

I won’t bother to respond to all the passages or evidence that leads one to believe that only a few will be saved. Let me just say this though. There was a man who lived in the most sinful place in the world and offered up his virgin daughters to be raped to save his visitors. God called the man righteous (Lot). There was a man who from his youth was committed to God and later committed adultery and had the woman’s husband killed. God called the man “a man after his own heart” (David). In both cases we would have concluded that these men weren’t even saved.

How about this verse below. Not only is this person sinning but teaching others to do so. Yet this person ends up in Heaven.

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Salvation is a very easy one time event that can happen any time in one’s life and you cannot lose your salvation. Also no works or evidence is required to prove one’s salvation. So one can be saved at let’s say 10 or at 99. As it is a one time event, we cannot judge whether that one time event has happened or will happen. The bible instructs us not to judge.

Why do I believe more will be saved than those who won’t? I will just use one verse and after that use my logic. Not to convince you or anyone, but just to explain why I think what I think.

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

God created all creatures which includes Angels and humans. Satan was able to convince one third of the Angels to follow him. So Satan failed his attempt to get most of the Angels to follow him. God wants all humans to be saved. Satan wants all humans to be lost. I don’t believe that Satan will win his attempt to get most humans lost either. I believe that God will find a way to get most humans saved.

So you may say that the evidence and bible verses that you have are stronger than what it is I believe. You certainly could be right. But I am comfortable believing as I do and there is really no need for me to believe otherwise. What I believe still causes me to share the Gospel just as much as someone who believes otherwise. So again I say this should not cause division among Christians as there are much more important things that Christians disagree on.

I hope this at least helps you to understand my position whether it is correct or not.

This thread below that I started also relates to this topic

Goodboy 😊

Good OP. Even for those left behind, the verse quoted above shows a huge number will be saved during the tribulation.

I also believe a number vastly higher than most believe, will be taken in the rapture.

.
Just for clarification purposes: are you saying you believe that of all people ever to exist in the past and future, that well over half of them will end up in heaven?

Thanks for posting what your view is Goodboy. I agree.
To be honest, I did not expect anyone to agree, as it contradicts what most Christians believe. I am glad you agree and it is somewhat humbling, as that means we Christians are not quite as special as we might think. Most religions and denominations like to believe how special they are and if you don't believe just the same as they do you are lost.

I converted a Jewish coworker who accepted Jesus as his Savior but never told anyone but me. Everyone else including his family thinks he still has his Jewish beliefs. We really don't know just who is really saved. :noidea:

God Bless!
😍

Can you elaborate on how you mean He will "find a way" ?
No sorry, I cannot elaborate. ☹️

As I am sure you already believe, God can do anything. He has even done things in my life that I cannot explain. So I was just saying God is able to do his will in ways we cannot explain. For instance God can reveal himself to those who are isolated from Christianity. How? I don't know nor do I need to know.

My point is that God is able!!!! 👍

@Goodboy, by your personal conclusion of what scripture means in these verses (or rather does not mean), do you also conclude that the majority of the people who drown in the Flood were also saved?

No, as those people were evil.

Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

It is clear based on scripture that those who are evil hate the light (God/Jesus) and therefore will not come to the light for salvation.
