MP Materials Stock Spikes After JV Deal With Saudi Arabia's Flagship Mining Company

Hol

Well-known
MP Materials stock is up more than 6% heading into the cash open after the company announced a rare earth refinery joint venture with Saudi Arabia's flagship mining company.

MP, the U.S. Department of War, and Saudi Arabia’s state mining giant Maaden have announced a joint venture to build a rare earth refinery in Saudi Arabia, marking one of the first major projects under a new U.S.–Saudi framework for critical mineral cooperation, the company wrote in a release this morning.

The venture is intended to diversify and stabilize the global rare earth supply chain, reducing reliance on adversarial sources while supporting manufacturing and defense needs in both countries and their allies.

The structure of the venture ensures U.S. oversight, with MP and the DoW jointly holding a targeted 49% stake and Maaden holding at least 51%. The DoW will provide non-recourse financing for the U.S. share, while MP contributes technical expertise and global sourcing and marketing capabilities. MP is also in discussions to collaborate on magnet manufacturing in Saudi Arabia.

As such things do. The rare earth stuff has to come from and be refined into a useful state from somewhere. That is a highly toxic process both mining and refining leaving a lot of toxic waste.

It is vital for things like computers, cellphones, sophisticated batteries, and modern weaponry. In other words modern communications, transport and armed services. Hence the need for the Dept of War to be involved.

Reading the article further states that the rare earths will come from Arabia but also "elsewhere".

I presume that the Saudi people won't do the dirty work, they import what is generally looked on as slave or near slave labour from elsewhere.

Sadly for those the Saudis already employ, safety standards and pay are almost non existent.

As is the current supply situation from China where they use slave labour without hesitation.

But we need that stuff for modern life. And the current situation had way too much dependence on China baked into the mix. No easy answers.

At least some of the toxic process can occur in Saudi Arabia although where they dump the waste might be interesting to know.

It is a toxic extraction. It amazes me how God created the earth in such a way the highly toxic materials can remain harmless under the earth —until they are dug up. Once some exposure occurs then unanticipated events, even rainwater, spread everything around. Mines can accidentally open up ground water, aquifers, etc. and other nearby rare earths can incidentally comingle making a toxic stew. The safer way would be to burrow underground and mine out the minerals with robotics.

Have you heard any more about Trump’s rare earth mining in the Ukraine?

where they dump the waste might be interesting to know.
Most surface waste pits remain problematic for decades. It’s very expensive to close mines. It seems that some companies prefer to dump waste in a deep watery grave.

No but there is a pretty solid rumour circulating about a deal he's working out with Russia over Ukraine- without Ukraine's input. Lavrov finally showed up after his long absence.

Why I mention that? Well the biggest best areas for those rare earth minerals happens to be in the area that Ukraine is hanging onto and Russia is trying to claim.

Lavrov is Russia's Foreign Minister and second only to Putin in the food chain (even higher than Medvedev). His disappearance coincided with some odd stuff happening in Russia, power struggles etc.

For the moment he's back in view and I think it was Axios reporting on some 20 plus point plan that Russia is working on with Witkoff. Russia was sending smoke signals that they felt "heard" whatever that means.

It's Russia (even when it's Ukraine). It's a bit opaque at times.

I suspect word will be leaking out more in the coming days. I expect Ukraine and the EU to have smoke signals too- coming out their collective ears.

That's interesting and I'll join you in watching. There was a thread where @TCC brought up the possibility that Turkey is Gog. I've heard that once before, something about Turkey as magnetic north?? Anyhow, with this long drawn out war in Ukraine I thought why not consider Turkey because Russia is not in any condition to go attack Israel. With your insights it makes more sense that joint ventures for rare earth minerals may settle things down.

It seems that Daniel 11:38 "...he will honor a god of fortresses—a god his fathers did not know—with gold, silver, precious stones, and riches," and Rev. 13:4 "They worshiped the dragon who had given authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, 'Who is like the beast, and who can wage war against it?'" is describing a man armed more than any other. In today's world President Trump is the most armed, not Russia. Somehow the US has to get dethroned from being armed to the teeth.

So, joining you...

Good insight on Daniel 11 compared with Rev 13 Hol!

I have heard the Turkey is Gog thing too, but I think Andy Woods put that one to bed definitively in one of his teaching sessions (goodness only knows when, the man is prolific!) Even google would have a hard time finding that needle in the Andy Woods haystack, but I'm pretty sure I heard him on the subject a few years ago.

AskAndy AI to the rescue 🫡
Oh I remember someone mentioning that.

OK how exactly does that work? Do you google Ask Andy AI, is there a link on Andy Wood's YT site?

Is it just for Andy Woods and if it's a general AI for use all over, is it safe?

Lots of questions.

You will love it.

You just pop in your question. Example: Is Turkey gog? Or, is Turkey Magog?
It will give an AI overview based solely on Andy's opinions/teachings (much the way google does with its summaries.)

But it will also link you to the exact sermons that those summations are pulled from. And when you click on a link that goes to a video, the video starts at the exact spot where he talks about the particular answer.

THANK YOU!

Bookmarking that one!!!!

OH I hope the other great but ahem, "prolific" teachers do their own version!

WOW!

appreciate that a LOT Amethyst. Because I'm a wimp about AI.

Sometimes require a bit of hand holding!!!!

So hopefully AI won't mind me posting the answer here from Ask Andy to the question Is Turkey Magog?

Turkey is not Magog, but rather Turkey is represented by several other names in biblical prophecy, specifically Meshach, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah. These names are identified with the region of modern-day Turkey. Magog, on the other hand, is identified with the nations of Central Asia, including countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and also Afghanistan.Ezekiel 38 and 39 describe a coalition of nations that will invade Israel in the last days, and among these nations, Magog represents Central Asia, Rosh represents Russia, and Meshach, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah represent Turkey. This coalition is significant in end-times prophecy, and Turkey plays a monumental role in this alliance against Israel. So, to clarify, Turkey is not Magog but is represented by Meshach, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah, while Magog refers to the Central Asian nations.

• Ezekiel 38:2-3: "Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him."

• Ezekiel 38:6: "Gomer with all its troops, and the house of Togarmah from the far north with all its troops."

• Genesis 10:2-3 (Table of Nations) identifies the descendants of Japheth, including Magog, Gomer, and others.

Here you go Hol, passing you the popcorn, we can munch together.

this from the AP news, via Global- a LOT quicker than expected. Canadian news rumour mill (Munk Debates) was saying that Russia is the one who leaked the 28 point plan.

And Points 4, 12, 13 and 14 allow for US mining and mineral rights or are worded in such a manner as to allow such.

Ukraine is reportedly upset.

Haven't seen the EU response yet.
