Minnesotans Fight ICE With Snowballs

Let us not forget that what is happening is not the result of ICE trying to do their sworn jobs but rather a result of state and local political leaders inciting people to resist ICE because they disagree with the law. This is upon them. And one day the Lord God Almighty will hold them to full account for ALL the harm they are causing.

Maybe it's just when the morning news is being broadcast that I can't copy-paste Fox9 . . . or maybe the article has be a certain age

Minnesota police chiefs allege some ICE agents racially profiled US citizens, including off-duty officers

Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt alleges people have been stopped and questioned solely because of skin color

By Louis Casiano Fox News
Published January 20, 2026 2:34pm EST

"Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said immigration enforcement was necessary but said he's received complaints within the past two weeks that a small group of federal officers have stopped U.S. citizens and demanded they provide paperwork proving their citizenship.
"As this went on over the past two weeks, we started hearing from our police officers the same complaints as they fell victim to this while off duty," he said. "Every one of these individuals is a person of color who has had this happen to them in Brooklyn Park."
He said one officer was stopped while driving and was boxed in by authorities. When she attempted to record the interaction, her phone was knocked out of her hand, the chief said. The federal officers also had their weapons drawn, he said.

Trump accuses Tim Walz and Ilhan Omar of using ICE protests to distract from massive state fraud

Trump says ICE agents are targeting 'violent criminals' across the Twin Cities

By Anders Hagstrom Fox News
January 18, 2026

"President Donald Trump lashed out at Minnesota Democrats on social media Sunday, saying they were using the ongoing federal operations to distract from the state's massive fraud issue."

""ICE is removing some of the most violent criminals in the World from our Country, and bring them back home, where they belong. Why is Minnesota fighting this? Do they really want murderers and drug dealers to be ensconced in their community? The thugs that are protesting include many highly paid professional agitators and anarchists. Is this really what Minnesota wants?" Trump wrote."

"Trump went on to call out Gov. Tim Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., saying they "don’t mind because it keeps the focus of attention off the 18 Billion Dollar, Plus, FRAUD, that has taken place in the State!"
"Don’t worry, we’re on it!" Trump added."

Appeals court pauses restrictions on tactics federal agents can use on peaceful protesters in Minneapolis

By Cole Premo, Esme Murphy
Updated on: January 21, 2026 / 9:53 PM CST / CBS Minnesota

"A federal appeals court on Wednesday temporarily paused a judge's ruling that restricted the use of force federal agents can use on peaceful protesters in Minneapolis.
The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals granted an administrative stay of the preliminary injunction, filed last week, while the federal government pursues an appeal.
On Friday, U.S. District Judge Katherine Menendez in a 83-page order blocked federal agents who are deployed to Minnesota as part of the Trump administration's immigration operations from using pepper spray or nonlethal munitions on peaceful protesters. The order also barred them from arresting peaceful protesters.
It also barred federal law enforcement from stopping or detaining drivers and passengers when there is "no reasonable articulable suspicion" that people driving near protests are forcibly interfering with law enforcement operations.
The ruling, now suspended, was in response to a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of six community members, alleging federal agents violated their constitutional rights."

NAMB pledges to protect So. Baptist church stormed by anti-ICE activists

By Ryan Foley, Christian Post Reporter Wednesday, January 21, 2026

"The leader of the Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Mission Board has vowed to protect churches from “lawless harassment” after anti-ICE activists barged into Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, disrupting Sunday worship and frightening families.
In a statement released Monday, NAMB President Kevin Ezell said the protesters violated "the sanctuary by shouting, blowing whistles, and intentionally interrupting ongoing services.”
“This group trespassed on public property and willfully obstructed Christian worship. No cause — political or otherwise — justifies the desecration of a sacred space or the intimidation and trauma inflicted on families gathered peacefully in the house of God,” he wrote. “What occurred was not protest; it was lawless harassment.”"

Nolte: Lying WaPo Debunks Its Own ‘ICE Detains… 5-Year-Old’ Headline in Paragraph Five

First things first… Imagine being such a lowlife, degenerate scumbag of an illegal alien that you run off and leave your five-year-old son behind.

That kind of behavior is simply beyond my comprehension. Not because I’m a good guy but because I’m a normal guy. What kind of animal does such a thing? Okay, bad example. Animals protect their young. You would think that anyone with human DNA wouldn’t even think twice about staying close to their child under any circumstance. I can’t imagine dropping the leash and leaving my dog behind, much less a small child, much less my ownchild.

If you’re capable of abandoning your own child in this way, which will forever damage that child in the knowledge that he is not loved unconditionally by his own father, then you are capable of any horror. Just another example of the unvetted, Third World barbarians Democrats allowed into our country.

The evil being perpetrated by so-called journalism today is without bounds! The Washington Post was once a great newspaper. Now it is worse than a bad one: it is a slimy propaganda rag that twists truth to support its particular narrative. No wonder mainstream media are in financial freefall. The public no longer trusts them. And with no reliable mainstream journalism the nation suffers. Shame!!!

Just another example of the unvetted, Third World barbarians Democrats allowed into our country.

Anyway, look at how the the Washington Post, a far-left propaganda outlet, uses the headline and sub-headline to lie about this to its gullible and shrinking readership…

Lying headline: “ICE detains four children from Minnesota school district, including 5-year-old”

Lying sub-headline: “Columbia Heights Public Schools district officials accused ICE officers of using the 5-year-old ‘as bait.’ A 10-year-old and her mother were also detained.”

Lying opening paragraph: “Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Minnesota have detained at least four children from the same school district this month, including a 5-year-old boy, school officials in a Minneapolis suburb said Wednesday.”

Then comes the truth, all the way down in paragraph five: “The father fled on foot when ICE officers approached him, DHS said. ‘For the child’s safety, one of our ICE officers remained with the child while the other officers apprehended Conejo Arias,’ it added.”

Mom refused the child, even after being assured she and the child would not be taken 😭
So, the boy is with his Father in a facility in Texas.
Correct move, not handing the child over to an "adult on the scene:" who knows what the motives/intent were.

If family member's asylum application(s) has/have been disapproved, no reason not to detain those, whose applications have been disapproved, including the child, so long as with at least one Parent. Not sure what the rule is if the applications are still pending/stuck in backlog. And no idea whether or not the Father had criminal conviction(s) and/or wants/warrants in the U.S. or elsewhere.

Tellingly, it's "school officials," who made the headline-making allegation. AP/CBS didn't identify which "school officials." Principal? Secretary? Teacher? School Resource Officer (SRO)? Janitor? Bus driver? Volunteer? Yet another reason to homeschool.

School officials say 5-year-old was used by ICE as "bait." DHS says he was abandoned.

Updated on: January 23, 2026 / 9:57 AM CST / CBS/AP

""For the child's safety, one of our ICE officers remained with the child while the other officers apprehended (the father)," DHS officials said.
"School officials say a nearby adult on the scene offered to take the child, but ICE agents did not allow that.
Later Thursday, McLaughlin went further, calling the framing of the incident as ICE using the child as "bait," claims made earlier by the child's school district, were "a horrific smear."
"Our officer's made multiple attempts to get the alleged mother who was inside the house to take custody of her child. Officers even assured her she would NOT be taken her into custody. The alleged mother refused to accept custody of the child. The father told officers he wanted the child to remain with him," McLaughlin said. "Parents are asked if they want to be removed with their children, or ICE will place the children with a safe person the parent designates. This is consistent with past administration's immigration enforcement."
An attorney for the Ramos family said they had entered the U.S. through a port of entry in 2024 using the CPB app and had requested asylum.

Local news covering peaceful (actually peaceful right now) vigil/protest at scene of ICE shooting.
Also talking about differences between Federal agent and regular police training re use of force: police are trained to use lethal force only for imminent lethal threat and must stop when that ends, while Federal training is different.

 Approaching any kind of LE with a gun, but especially in the middle of what's going on now, is just plain stupid (and wrong)

Police: 37-year-old US citizen shot, killed by federal agents in Minneapolis

By KSTP

Published: January 24, 2026 - 10:12 AM

"A man who was shot by federal agents Saturday morning in Minneapolis has died, federal and local authorities say.
The Associated Press identified the man as 37-year-old Alex Pretti, an intensive care unit nurse.
The incident happened just after 9 a.m. near the intersection of Nicollet Avenue and 26th Street. A U.S. Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said agents were conducting immigration enforcement when a man approached agents with a gun. When agents tried to disarm him, he “violently resisted.” One of the agents fired “defensive shots,” and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
DHS said the man had a 9 mm handgun with two magazines on him.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said his department believes the deceased is a Minneapolis resident and U.S. citizen.
O’Hara said the man had no record of violent criminal offenses and was a “lawful” gun owner with a permit to carry.
The chief confirmed he ordered MPD officers to remain on scene to preserve evidence."

“He was a gentle person and I can’t even imagine him ever wanting to hurt anyone,” said Ginny Winer. “It’s horrific, it hits too close to home.”
Chris Gray said he wasn’t surprised the shooting happened one day after thousands of Minnesotans participated in a strike and peaceful rally on Friday.
“It hits close to home because this has already been happening to our neighborhoods,” he said about the shooting. “We know people who were deported; we have immigrants on our block. Our neighborhood was stronger before ICE got here. ICE has done nothing to keep us safe.”"

There will likely be a case headed through the court system to SCOTUS, re the sufficiency of an Administrative Warrant (as opposed to a Judicial Warrant) to enter a private residence without consent.

Legal scholars raise concerns about internal ICE policy authorizing entry into homes without judicial warrants

By Caroline Cummings
January 23, 2026 / 8:41 PM CST / CBS Minnesota

"An internal U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement memo from a whistleblower and obtained by the Associated Press that authorizes officers to enter homes without judicial warrants is raising concerns among legal scholars who say the policy is a clear violation of the Constitution.
The directive from last May states that while the U.S. Department of Homeland Security had not historically relied on administrative warrants to arrest immigrants subject to final orders of removal at their homes, "the DHS Office of the General Counsel has recently determined that the U.S. Constitution, the Immigration and Nationality Act, and the immigration regulations do not prohibit relying on administrative warrants for this purpose."
Administrative warrants are signed by immigration officials, not judges."

"That law enforcement would need such a warrant approved by a judge in order to enter a home is well-established legal precedent reiterated by the courts time and again, constitutional experts told WCCO news.
Emmanuel Mauleón, associate professor of law at the University of Minnesota who specializes in the Fourth Amendment, said that administrative warrants authorize arrests, but that does not mean those arrests can happen inside a person's residence without their consent to enter.
This has been long-standing Fourth Amendment interpretation. There has been no U.S. Supreme Court case ever that has found that an administrative warrant meets this bar," Mauleón said. "What I'll say is the Fourth Amendment probable cause requirement."

"Vice President JD Vance during a visit to Minneapolis on Thursday was asked if he thought the ICE policy violates the Fourth Amendment. He did not directly say if he thought so, but conceded courts could disagree with that policy and vowed to follow an order if they did.
"Our understanding is that you can enforce the immigration laws of the country under an administrative order if you have an administrative warrant. That's what we think. That's our understanding of the law. That's our best faith attempt to understand the law," Vance told reporters. "Again, this is something courts will weigh in on. I won't speak to that, but yes, most immigration law in our country is not done through the criminal system with the judge. It's done through the administrative law system.""

WF and the three local grocery chains were open. The co-op was not.
Looked like business as usual at the places I went/drove by day before yesterday (Friday).
No one bothered me about going inside anyplace and I didn't see anyone with signs, etc. outside.
I'm glad places were still open for homeless people to go inside and get/stay warm.

🤔 I hope the abortion clinics took part in the general strike and were closed.
