Michigan House passes bill that could make using wrong pronouns a felony, fineable up to $10,000

From FoxNews:

A recently passed bill in Michigan could make it a felony to intimidate someone by intentionally using the wrong gender pronouns, according to some legal experts.

Michigan's state House of Representatives has passed bill HB 4474, a piece of legislation that criminalizes causing someone to feel threatened by words.

Under the new bill, offenders are "guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years, or by a fine of not more than $10,000."

Wow, I mean WOW!

Yeah, the Supreme Court is going to be busy (or at least the next judicial stage).

It's interesting, these kinds of things are serving as a bit of a wake up call as the reality of kindergarten rules start being enforced.

This article states that quite a bit of people in the US, including a more substantial amount of Democrats have had it with this stuff:

....In a new survey, Robert Cahaly’s group asked more than 1,000 people (who leaned Democratic by 4%) if they’re sick of the public LGBT pandering. A whopping 62% said yes, they just wished companies would stay neutral. Only 23% think corporations should continue on with their extreme political themes.....

I think that's the idea: make people so weary of fighting that they give up and TPTB lick their lips and crow in victory.

I was thinking about this the other day, about being careful to not let discouragement set in but being continually alert to God's guidance in when and where to be working for His values.

I don't want to be so caught up in the tornado that I'm missing kingdom work, neither do I want to miss God's direction in being the preserving salt of society.

It can feel overwhelming but not to God.

So, my prayer was, God, show me clearly where and when to get involved, giving wisdom and keep me on the path you want me on. That's really all I can control, prayerfully seeking His will and following Christ.

It may be that path effects for eternal good in these situations.

Yes; what I was pointing out is that they want to wear down folks who aren't trusting in the Lord so they collapse. But I believe the Lord will use this to bring draw them to Him and show them that He can be their salvation and their rest.

Brought in our computer to get it fixed and realized quickly it was a guy with makeup on. I had no problem with his female name, as that was his legal name. But anything causing me to lie I will never utter.

For my son's wedding the photographer was either a male or a female pretending to be the other gender. My guess was it was a female masquerading as a male but I'll never know for sure. When my son contacted the business to see if he could bump up his package to the next level they told him he could but his payment for the initial package wouldn't be returned and he'd have to pay from scratch for the new service. At some point during that conversation he learned about the freak that was going to be doing the photography. Sorry about using freak, but I really don't know what else to call them using one word... He called me and was pretty upset about it but it turned out okay. The photographer behaved professionally and didn't draw attention to his/herself. I made a point to greet the photographer when he/she showed up to the church. God still loves that person and there is still time for him/her to be saved.

I guess MIchigan has forgotten that we have a 1st Amendment. Imagine having to make your way up to the Supreme Court to have justice after you're found guilty of this speech crime.
Could not agree more! All these "hate" crimes etc. that stifle free speech are a trap. Us ol' folks grew up with "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words never hurt me..." To me this is all an expansion of "entitlement culture." All of which is a danger to our freedom.

Just curious was he in a dress or did she wear pants? I’m confused :noidea:

Pants... but either gender will wear pants. I'm confused too.. and so is he/her...
Was in same situation at family birthday party for a 2 year old. My wifes...sister...husbands...brother's family was there. I was sitting next to a multi color hair, pierced to the max, pants slashed front and back... etc. I couldn't tell what sex he/she was. Her sister related to "her" in conversation, but it still didn't help. He/she was pleasant though, and extender their hand as I got wobbly getting up after sitting for a while. (y)

I feel very sorry for gender confused people. Something is seriously wrong to make them this way. Sin combined with Mental illness combined with demonic oppression.
Here is a new ministry I recently came across…founded by a formerly “trans” young lady who recently detransitioned (her voice is still affected by the testosterone.) Her wonderful testimony:

And This interview by her and another formerly “trans” young lady is so moving and powerful, and taught me quite a bit as to what goes through their minds, and how we as the church need to understand how to lead them to Christ:

The comments on the videos are amazing too. She is making a big difference, praise God!

I agree that all people need Jesus and to be treated in a loving way.

But for us women, when a man claims he is a woman and starts entering (and demanding the ability to enter) women's restrooms it makes many of us very upset and angry and uneasy.

Live and let live only goes so far. Its woven into the fabric of our laws now. Very sad and scary. It is not safe in any way. It is dangerous and delusional.

This happened to me about ten years ago - before all of this insanity. My husband and I were on a trip and stopped at a fast food place later at night. I had to go to the bathroom right away and my husband stood outside the main door as usual. I had to pee too badly to size up the person in there (wearing a dress - facing the sinks) when I came in. Went to the stall. When I realized the stall was out of TP I muttered something under my breath. When I came out and went to the sink this person turned to me and said something like “I heard you talking about me - don’t worry honey, you’re beautiful too.” I quickly realized it was a man in a dress. Makeup, long hair and pink nail polish. I thought about shouting for my husband but could see the guy looked more hurt than angry. I said “Hey, I wasn’t talking about you” and he continued to say things like “that’s ok -whatever - I know you were.” I got out of there pronto and was thankful I didn’t get stabbed. Because he was all kinds of crazy. My husband made a point to avoid driving at night the whole rest of the trip.

@Andiamo That is very scary 😳 I havent been to an actual rest area in a long while and now I think I'd be afraid to honestly.

I just got laid off, but at my work I know there was a guy going into the womans restroom.Something some "trans" do is attempt to walk like a woman. And they dont do a good job. They just look like a man trying to walk like a woman. It is disturbing.
I work for the federal gov't and I know my work would protect this person's abiblity to go in the womans restroom. I always try to use the one at the other end but it's further away.
I dont think this particular person cares about looking at other women but it's the principle of the matter.

it's the principle of the matter.
For sure. I think the only solution to this disaster they have made is for every public bathroom to be revamped cubicle style with floor to ceiling stall walls and locking doors. Will cost a fortune. I have also gone into a busy ladies room with a very apologetic young male employee cleaning the sinks. The sinks were around a corner from the stalls and I could see he was just trying to finish his job and get out of there so I just kept an eye out.
