Spain's grid operator, Red Eléctrica, announced that restoring power could take up to 10 hours. The company announced it had activated an emergency plan to restore supply. The company reported that a "total blackout" – a complete collapse of the electrical system on the Iberian Peninsula – had occurred, and the causes of the failure are still being investigated. Was just coming to post this -- nothing at all on tv news about it. They do believe it was a cyber attack. Stores are being emptied. Traffic lights are all out.

My nephew traveled to Spain on Saturday for a 60 day internship. Not aware of any issues for him. The good news is that all was restored (or most) and no chaotic panic and movement of the masses occurred during the blackout.
