Leviticus 11:9-12
King James Version

9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

I used to be a pure vegan without onion garlic. after watching jesus movies, i eat non-vegetarian. i eat fish with fins and scales.:preach:I had a vitamin deficiency:imsorrysign:(🍗

Siddhi, as a minister of Jesus Christ I guarantee you are NOT suffering because of what you ate. The dietary laws were for only Israel until Jesus Christ came. When Jesus was crucified, those laws were nailed to the cross with Him (Colossians 2:14). Therefore, we Christians are not bound by those laws (Romans 7:24; Galatians 3:24-25). And every sin we committed was forgiven the moment we were saved (Acts 20:43), never to be remembered again (Hebrews 8:12).

I wonder why God told them not to eat those creatures back then. I know some have allergies, or personal preference but shellfish and crustaceans are the bomb diggity. Maybe the incidence of toxins was higher in the region or time period? Or He just wanted them to be different than other peoples.
Answers in Genesis digs into a lot of this stuff.
Shrimp were considered bottom feeders I do believe.

Some people may not digest seafood very well it could cause physical issues but not spiritual ones
Yes, and @Siddhi Koli, if shrimp, crab and oysters make you sick, I’m so glad that God led you to stop eating those

A long time ago I was in a Bible study with a group of people who decided to try and eat the diet that God gave the children of Israel. The Lord reminded me of Jesus’ words in the gospel of Mark chapter 7:19-20
What Defiles a Man
“Are you still so dull?” He asked. “Do you not understand? Nothing that enters a man from the outside can defile him, because it does not enter his heart, but it goes into the stomach and then is eliminated.” He continued: “What comes out of a man, that is what defiles him…”

It was God disciplining me because I had to leave that group of friends who were heading towards a false path of thinking that we could purify ourselves by what we ate. I was sad to leave them, but discipline is painful for only for a moment.

Living in a hot climate, shellfish decay quickly. They are bottom feeders for the most part, feeding on waste. Carrion eaters of the sea. Once caught, they need to be cooked and consumed quickly or they carry disease even in colder climates.

Fin and scaled fish on the other hand don't feed on waste or decay, and they can be caught, cleaned and dried which made for a huge local industry for fisherman like Peter for example. Dried fish kept well, and didn't carry the risk of decay, disease transmission etc.

Life before refrigeration.
