Largest federal worker union urges Congress to end government shutdown

TCC

Well-known

The largest union representing federal workers is urging lawmakers to pass a short-term spending measure to end the government shutdown. The group urged Democrats to collaborate with Republicans to support a temporary solution.

The message came three days after about 1.4 million federal employees missed their first full paycheck since the shutdown began Oct. 1.

It could put pressure on Democrats, who have refused to support a temporary spending bill without a commitment from Republicans to extend health care subsidies through the Affordable Care Act.

. . . . .

When pigs fly: What it looks like when leftist super powers transcend TDS.

Should be interesting although I think logic has flew the coop in that camp a long time ago.:nod::nod:
Well said. It could be seen too perhaps a parading of Schumer on front street: What it looks like when Dems dig a hole deep enough to call it home.

I was a LEO member of AFGE for many years, I don’t know if I was considered good standing though because I voted a straight R ticket for 24 years :monkey:

I went through enough of those shutdowns to make me sick. Mandatory work with no pay. Then get a big check when the government opened, only to have the IRS take more of my check because I came in a higher income bracket for the pay period!

I assure you the essential employees are sick of the gamesmanship!

Schumer and the others may be happy because their large financial contributors are the insurance companies who absolutely want the Obama healthcare funding to continue unchanged. It's a 41 billion dollar income boost for them. They have about 900 lonbyists working mainly with Democrats (but also some Rino Republicans) in Washington, to try and prevent the Big Beautiful Bill from killing that cash cow. Hence the refusal to support a clean CR.Apparently Schumer et al are playing the game the insurance companies want rather than doing what is best for the average American.

The love of money, always.
