***Kirk Cameron has been led astray and needs to be prayed for. He has overlooked the clear biblical description of Hell/ The Lake of Fire, which he now believes is annihilation or non existence.
If the unsaved is just annihilated, or non existent, how can they be "tormented day and night forever"?***

This is really sad, saying that nonbelievers simply perish, is serious deception. That makes it sound like death is no big deal, that they just won't exist anymore when that just is not true.

It is not cruel and not unusual either.

I for me, am very glad God will hand out everybody's just judgement.
Just imagine that unrepentant perpetrators wouldn't be held accountable.
Now that would be cruel!

And for saying it is unusual? What a weird word to come up with.
Unusual maybe, in this day and age where felons are let loose to commit more crimes.
But everyone that isn't covered by Christ's blood, will go to perdition.
A very sad, but not unusual, verdict.

By making that claim he is basically saying that there will be no punishment for rejecting the gospel. That's almost like encouraging those living a sinful life outside of Christ to continue that lifestyle. I'm sure that's not his intent, but people will perform all kinds of mental gymnastics to justify their behavior.

Sad to read his change, and his new unbiblical views on hell. However, its not a salvation issue, and hopefully he will be corrected in his incorrect views through prayer, and the Holy Spirit.

How I wish he were correct, for the sake of my family. But he is not.

How in the world can anyone read the words of Jesus, and entertain this nonsense.

Not only that, but I think this belief of hell not being eternal subconsciously changes the degree of the appreciation of Jesus’ sacrifice. It lowers it just a bit. And it lowers Him just a bit too.

Because the truth is that the eternal God came out of eternity and into time, to rescue eternal beings from eternal punishment. Changing the eternal factor on the human side wrecks the equation.

And I wish Kirk Cameron would keep his wishy washiness to himself. He has a lot of influence on many people. He shouldn’t spout out his latest theological views every time he has a struggle with one of them.

IMO, Ray Comfort has more errors in his teaching, which I believe he promotes a works based salavtion.

Yes, his leanings toward legalism/Calvinism are troubling.

That helps explain why Kirk Cameron has trouble with God’s holiness. Calvinists logically are led to believe that God determines who goes to heaven and to hell. How awful to see someone you love reject Jesus for any of us, but it must be horrifying for Calvinists who believe that God determines them to go to hell.

How awful to see someone you love reject Jesus for any of us, but it must be horrifying for Calvinists who believe that God determines them to go to hell.

Abraham Piper, John Piper's son, is the poster boy for being raised under that kind of teaching and what it can do to someone.

Maybe one of Kirk's kids has turned away from the faith or has serious doubts and he can't deal with thinking they might suffer eternally.
