It's Harris/Walz

It’s weird to me that of all places for the hub to be of the craziness, Minnesota?? I would expect Boston, NYC or San Francisco, not random Minnesota. I must be missing something about Minnesota that makes it a magnet for muslims and perverts.

Sorry this is kind of jumbled up [sigh]

Minnesota has always been very liberal. Mostly Scandinavian and some German settlers, who brought Gospel teaching and preaching, socially liberal Lutheranism, which really drove the culture for a very long time, and there's still a lot of the values. "Minnesota nice" being one of them. Liberal politics reflected church values of loving and caring for neighbors, etc. Unfortunately, part of what came was secular humanism (Germany and some French) and liberal attitude toward sexuality (Sweden, Denmark, Norway). Many Jewish people here, too, with politically liberal views (many fleeing persecution from different countries). While I was growing up,it wasn't unusual to see Jewish people with Nazi tatoos on their arms (concentration camp survivors). Also largest urban Native American populationin the U.S., many Indian Reservations, etc., and the Native American heritage is public and respected here a lot more than elsewhere. With so many different cultures here, it's kind of like a mini NYC. For awhile, there was a store called the Minneapple, which sold Minneapolis/Minnesota stuff reflective of the Big Apple (NYC). Minnesota's the Land of 10,000 Lakes, 10,000 Political Parties, 10,0000 Protests, etc., and has always been very politically active and progressive. Much, much more, but I think enough to paint some of the cultural picture here.

Helping refugees and immigrants has been "a thing" here for a long time. My high school ended up having the Southeast Asian cultural center, where bilingual teachers and counselors helped kids from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos during and after the Vietnam War. A lot of those kids and their families were sponsored by churches and NGOs, which caused some issues because the immigrant/refugee kids had new cars, etc., which they were given, and virtually none of the middle class kids in that area had (back then, kids got a job, saved money, bought a heap, and worked on it themselves until it was driveable); the area was middle and uppermiddle class, and Parents taught their kids they had to earn what they had. That attitude stills shows up in a lot of people keeping their cars here until they really have to replace. There's a very large Syrian population, that was established decades ago, people have been coming from Pakistan and India for a long time, and many Jewish people from "everywhere."

The Somalis and a lot of others were sent/brought here by President Obama and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS). President Obama announced he was sending Somalis, etc. to places that were "too White," which also included North Dakota and Wisconsin. The Ethiopian and some other African Lutheran churches have been sending missionaries here to help the US Lutheran churches here evangelize because of the language and cultural issues. There are also some Christians among the African refugees, and they've been busy about The Lord's Work, as well. As muslims bexome Christians, some take it into their families and communities. Unfortunately, sharia in some families and trying to creep into communities and government (some successs).

Nice place, but a very strange mixture of cultures that quickly learn to be nice and help each other because of Old Man Winter, with all the snow, cold, ice, blizzards, etc, and the lessons are reinforced every year. Ditto that people from various places learn to get along by respecting each other's cultures and letting people do IAW his or her religion or culture, virtually always without judgement or fear (live and let live). So many refugees and immigrants with the past experience of religious, political, etc. persecution and having to start from pretty much nothing, and people and churches here helping, which creates a certain attitude congruent with Lutheran liberal social Gospel, helping, etc. and "knowing what it's like." So there are a LOT of distinct cultures and a LOT of cross-cutural learning and sharing, plus the shared experiences of winter, etc. in Minnesota.

Even today, over 20 percent of Minnesota is Lutheran (mostly extremely liberal ELCA) and it still exerts a strong influence on the culture. The traditional Native American cultures and large Native American population also exert strong influences on the culture. While the rest of the country is tearing down/renaming Native American places, Minnesota's renaming places with Native American names, returning to original Native American names for places, etc. Homosexual community here is large and exerts a lot of influence, and has for a very long time. All of this is reflected in extremely liberal politics and social policies. During Republican-won landslide elections, Minnesota and Washington DC (and once also Massachusetts) have been the lone DFL.

Tim Walz’s Church Doesn’t Like To Call God ‘Him,’ Supports Reparations And Pride Parades

Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz attends a church that preaches beliefs related to gender, race and sexuality that many Christian denominations strongly oppose.

Walz, who is the governor of Minnesota, identified Pilgrim Lutheran Church in St. Paul as his parish during a 2020 briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials published by Pilgrim Lutheran Church instruct parishioners not to refer to God using male pronouns, push congregants to support reparation funds, encourage them to celebrate Ramadan and include a modified gender-neutral version of the Lord’s Prayer, among other liberal practices.

Pilgrim Lutheran Church is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), a mainline protestant denomination that has been criticized by some conservative Christians for ordaining transgender and lesbian bishops as well as for its embrace of LGBT ideology.

“The ELCA is, broadly speaking, a liberal American mainline Protestant denomination,” Jonah Wendt, a policy adviser for Mike Pence’s Advancing American Freedom and a member of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “They reject the inerrancy of scripture, ordain women to the pastoral office [and] hold what many would believe to be unbiblical views on abortion and homosexual behavior.”

This was eye opening. I had no idea. I just assumed Minnesota was Hicksville or just rural and country. Good to know! I’ve only been to the East Coast from North to South, and California, plus Chicago. Everything in the middle is a blur to me.

Minnesota has a long history of farming, fishing, hunting, mining, logging, manufacturing, education, music/culture, medical, and conservation/ecology. This last used to be really good until some PC stuff that includes forest mismanagement was introduced  Minnesota has 10 different critical habitat license plates, which cost an additional $30 a year. That money is used for conservation of the habitat/endangered species. Minnesotans voted with our pocketbooks, and so much money was raised that the state had to put more money into the matching fund (for every $1 spent from the license plate money, $1 had to be spent from state revenue for specific conservation programs; an effort to change the law to $2/$1 failed miserably  State budget can't be reduced for conservation to rely on the license plate money :) I have moose plates (they're endangered here :( The most recent critical habitat plate, pollinators, was added a couple years ago.

Like some other states, the big cities (Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Rochester, Mankato, and Duluth) are more liberal than the rural areas, and the northern part of the state is generally more conservative than the southern part.

Michigan is also a target for Muslims. I dont know about perverts 🤔

Michigan is one of the most geographically strategic places in the U.S. It's on Lakes Superior (Upper Peninsula that's attached to Wisconsin), and Michigan, Huron, and Erie (the mitt/main part of the state) and major crossings into Canada. Bridge and tunnel into Windsor, Canada. It used to be that people crossed from Detroit into Windsor for the "gentlemen's clubs," etc. IDK what's going on on the U.S. side these days. Major heavy manufacturing, including vehicles.

EDITED TO ADD LAKE ERIE. Forgot Lake Erie

Vance reopens line of attack into Walz’s military record as two veterans now vie to be vice president

By Jeremy Herb and Haley Britzky, CNN
Updated 10:31 PM EDT, Wed August 7, 2024

CNN Donald Trump’s running mate Ohio Sen. JD Vance stepped up his attacks on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s portrayal of his military career, accusing him of ducking service in Iraq when he left the Army National Guard and ran for Congress in 2005.
Vance also accused Walz of falsely claiming he had served in a combat zone while the Democratic vice presidential nominee was in the Army National Guard.
While Walz retired two months before his unit received alert orders to deploy to Iraq, the attacks on Walz’s military record are part of the race from both parties to define the relatively unknown governor after he was tapped Tuesday as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate. Walz’s 24-year military service is one of several facets of his background that appeal to voters that the Harris campaign is trying to reach with his selection – and that Republicans are trying to blunt by painting him as an out-of-touch liberal.
Walz and Vance, the two VP candidates, are both military veterans, unlike their running mates.
Walz served in the Army National Guard for 24 years before retiring in 2005. He launched a campaign for Congress in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District that year and was elected in November 2006.
At a campaign stop in Michigan on Wednesday, Vance accused Walz of abandoning his unit before it deployed to Iraq in 2006.
“When the United State Marine Corps, when the United States of America asked me to go to Iraq to serve my country, I did it. I did what they asked me to do, and I did it honorably and I’m very proud of that service. When Tim Walz was asked by his country to go to Iraq, you know what he did? He dropped out of the Army and allowed his unit to go without him,” Vance said.

"Everyone" keeps on referring to Governor Walz as Command Sergeant Major, but he didn't have enough time-in-rank, so his retired rank is Master Sergeant. His official bio does reveal this, although they word it as "for benefits," making it sound more administrative and unimportant. But it is important because he didn't earn the rank title to use in retirement by virtue of not having fulfilled the two-year time-in-service requirement at that rank to use it :tap:

This man is BAD news. He is incompetent, subversive, enraged against goodness, hates unborn babies, woke to the max, a progressive persons progressive, and cannot be better defined than a domestic enemy. Letting MSP burn is just an example of his stupidity and disdain for our Nation of Laws.
