Israel ready to end war with Iran, report says

Israel is interested in ending the war with Iran as soon as possible, and maximizing the achievement of the U.S. military's successful attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, Israeli and Arab sources told the Wall Street Journal on Monday.

Israel expects to complete the attack on the list of military targets in Iran in the coming days, which could "create a path" for an end to the fighting, Israeli officials told the Journal.

However, they defined the current situation as "dynamic," and noted that "much depends on the Iranian response." It was also reported that the U.S. informed officials from Arab countries in the region that Israel "seeks to end the fighting as soon as possible" - and asked to convey the message to Iran.

Iran, for its part, responded that it is not prepared to withdraw at this stage, as it feels obligated to respond to the American attack on the nuclear facilities. An Israeli official emphasized that the IDF would continue to attack Iran as long as the Iranians continued to attack back - even if Israel ostensibly ended its attacks. "They will attack - we will attack," he told the Journal. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that "we will not be dragged into a war of attrition — but we also will not end this historic operation until we have met all our goals.”

Hard to know what to think. Iran might be doing the Hudna thing- call for a peace treaty when they lose, then break it as soon as they regain strength to resume the battle, preferably in a surprise attack. Muslims don't keep their promises to "infidels". They knew this attack was coming, they may have moved some of the enriched uranium to safety.

Israel's life is on the line so I'm waiting to hear their side of this.

The danger is if Iran still has supplies that weren't eliminated- Israel might be forced to make peace before it's really safe enough for Israel to be at peace.

And if there is "peace" does this mean Israel is forced into peace with Iran's proxies in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, etc??? A lot of moving parts in this war that started on Oct 7 2023 and is still going.

I hope it's real peace, and I hope they are allowed to finish what they have to in ALL the areas that attacked them, not just Iran, but Iran's proxies.

2 people I do listen to from Israel this morning

JNS (Caroline Glick's old employer before she moved on to advising Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu) Alex Traiman
and
Amir Tsarfati.

Alex presented a very calm reassuring 35 minute assessment of the situation here: - YouTube

and Amir here: - YouTube who as usual says most of what needs saying in the first 20 minutes

I thought both of them were very reassuring about the work that Trump and his B2 bombers have done, INCLUDING this attempt at a peace treaty.

Both seem to think it's good for Israel in spite of the anger that Trump displayed this morning, and both think this has a chance to give the Iranians time and space for regime change.

Whether that works or not, either way both of them thanked Trump because the strikes by the B2s were ESSENTIAL and actions proved where Trump's priorities lie.

Bottom line even if things fall apart as far as peace treaties go- there was a very real advance to Israel's end goals of removing Iran's nuclear capability.

What Trump did SAVED a lot of lives. Even if he doesn't do anything else.

Some of Israel's other goals are unmet, and it looks like Iran was just doing the Hudna thing with Trump BUT because of Iran's continuing attacks to Israel, and threat to shipping and oil, it is likely that the unfortunate pressure on Israel to stop dealing with Gaza and Lebanon will not continue from the Trump Administration even if relations have soured a bit in the short term.

So overall assessment by both these men is that progress has been made.

Alex made a very good point that Israel doesn't think Iran had time or ability to move the enriched uranium, and he explains why about mid way thru his talk.
