Iran crossed a political threshold
What happened in Iran on Thursday night was not simply another protest. Coordinated mass demonstrations unfolded nationwide in response to a direct call from Prince Reza Pahlavi that specified not only the action but also the timing.Calls for action from outside Iran have been issued many times over the years and largely ignored. This one was answered, simultaneously and at scale. The precision of the call and the response to it surprised supporters and skeptics alike. Thursday night did not produce regime change, but it marked something no less significant: a visible crossing of a political threshold.
Revolutions do not begin on a single night. They surface after long periods of accumulated rupture. Iran has been politically and psychologically boiling for roughly two decades. What we are witnessing today is the outward expression of a process that began with the collapse of legitimacy in 2009.

It just seems anytime western nations come in and try to implement any type of freedom to the middle east that there is a rebellion. Islam and freedom do not mix. The citizens cry for the freedom, but when those freedoms conflict with Islamic traditions, Islam always prevails. Just as Christians will always support Christian principles, Islamists will support the principles of Islam. I'm not sure if there is a solution to this issue, I hope one can be found.
Assuming the current regime in Iran falls, it'll be interesting to see what replaces it. It seems that more often than not what replaces a fallen regime is worse than what it replaces.

It’s interesting that some protesters are chanting something like: “Iran is not Islamic. We are Persians,” and they are.
Here’s a brief insight from a former Islamist: “In Iran, Islam stands everywhere exposed for the corrupt totalitarian nightmare that it is. So many Iranians have already rebelled against this sanctified monstrosity by leaving Islam for Christianity, Zoroastrianism or atheism. During this “final battle," as the insurrectionists call it, they are making a point of destroying symbols of Islam, mosques and seminaries, clergy, and flags bearing the Islamic creed, the Shahada. It should be most surprising if, by the end of this revolution, anything remains of Qom, the city whose institutions converted Shari’a into practical government policy. It is here that the evil was forged.
Most of today's Western governments, academics and media are doing everything to deflect from this being a popular revolution against Islam specifically. They, together with the Iranian regime, are framing the events now raging on the streets across the country as little more than bread riots. That in itself is a major admission of ideological failure, since economics, along with everything else concerned with this world, like ensuring a stable water supply, “is for donkeys," according to Ali Khamenei’s predecessor, Ruhollah Khomeini. The only thing that matters is that Islam spreads, even at the cost of Iran itself, as Khomeini reassured his people. Today the insurrectionists answer: “Neither Gaza nor Lebanon, my life for Iran."

Amen, and I wonder if things will turn out differently this time because possibly it is Christians en masse who are being filled with the strength and courage of God and rising up…taking a stand with that spiritual weapon in their hand. This time they know to fight in the Unseen realm.

The cutting off of the internet in Iran has led to a NEAR-TOTAL BLACKOUT of news about the unrest sweeping across the entire country.
Only a few videos have been posted today from Zahedan in the east of the country, showing protesters facing off against security forces, with the sound of gunfire in the background. Another from Mashhad, the 2nd biggest city in Iran shows a burnt out government building.
One person who has been able to send a message to the BBC says he is in Shiraz, in southern Iran, where he reports a RUN on SUPERMARKETS by residents trying to STOCK UP ON FOOD and other essentials, expecting WORSE DAYS TO COME.
The shutdown of the internet has meant that ATMs are NOT WORKING, and there is NO WAY to access cash to PAY for PURCHASES in shops where debit cards cannot be used, due to the lack of internet.

Please overrule and reverse evil decisions, groups and plans and let your wonderful will of grace and mercy firmly take hold.
Lord, we also pray this for your church around the world where there is extreme suffering and persecution.
