Iran and Hezbollah launch coordinated attack on Israel

dwb

Well-known
Iran and Hezbollah are using cluster bombs to attack Israel in joint attack.

Hezbollah and Iran launched a coordinated strike strategy Tuesday, a national security expert claimed, as reports emerged that deadly cluster munitions were hitting Israel in synchronized attacks.

The developments unfolded on day 11 of Operations Epic Fury and Roaring Lion, the joint U.S.-Israeli campaign targeting Iran, marking a potential escalation in the widening regional conflict.

"Hezbollah has fully joined the war, and it looks like they are now very well coordinated with Iran," Kobi Michael, a senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies and the Misgav Institute, told Fox News Digital while speaking from his bomb shelter near Tel Aviv.

Cluster bombs are hard to stop.

Hezbollah must have the same death wish as Iran, by now presenting more targets of opportunity for IDF and US forces.

Our combined forces with the IDF are whittling down the big sticks of Iran, Hezbollah, which will eventually be tiny sticks, unable to inflict much damage.

The door in the ME will be eventually open for peace and security, lasting for a time only God knows.

Prophetic puzzle is down to the last few pieces, keep looking up…..

Andy, is it possible to win a war without boots on the ground?
Depends on your definition of “win”.

The win here will be annihilation of Irans military capability. We can destroy the majority of their killing weapons, but their troops, that would take a ground war and that is something that wont happen - hopefully, a lesson we learned from the Iraq war. The goal is to set them back many years in missile production, and nuke capabilities. Coupled with sanctions, their economy will likely not be able to rebuild anytime soon.

It keeps looking a lot like Jer 49 and Ezek 32:17-32! Lebanon IS part of that picture according to Ezek 32:17-32 as ALL the Sidonions - along with Elam (western Iran, part of Iraq) plus Egypt, Syria, Turkey as Meshek and Tubal, Edom - southern Jordan. The Princes of the North are mentioned, and that might be Russia or it might be another mention of Lebanon in it's context. Even Turkey would fit that label. But if it's Russia, that would certainly fit the coming Ezek 38 alliance and the shift from Elam's focus on terrorism and eliminating Israel in these passages, to the focus on theft and possibly revenge from the Iran/Russia/Turkish alliance in Ezek 38

And it's because of the terror that these groups inflict on the land of the living.

Turkey looks like they get pulled in before they can even use their weapons. I wonder if the "hordes of Egypt" would fit the way that the Muslim Brotherhood came about- in Egypt, but infecting the Muslim groups mentioned here. The passage begins and ends with that Egypt theme. Egypt and Pharoah are mentioned thru the passage here, suggesting that they are part of why things happen, part of the terrorism. That certainly fits. Egypt is NOT Israels friend, and this Gaza war is no exception as they were supplying the majority of the arms smuggled thru the tunnels. Yet Egypt is asked if she is more favoured than others. Suggests that she hides her connection to terrorism better than the others. Egypt has only 1 mention of terrorism right at the end in v 32

I've underlined all the terrorism references below.

Ezek 32:17-32

17 In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me: 18 “Son of man, wail for the hordes of Egypt and consign to the earth below both her and the daughters of mighty nations, along with those who go down to the pit. 19 Say to them, ‘Are you more favored than others? Go down and be laid among the uncircumcised.’ 20 They will fall among those killed by the sword. The sword is drawn; let her be dragged off with all her hordes. 21 From within the realm of the dead the mighty leaders will say of Egypt and her allies, ‘They have come down and they lie with the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.’

22 “Assyria is there with her whole army; she is surrounded by the graves of all her slain, all who have fallen by the sword. 23 Their graves are in the depths of the pit and her army lies around her grave. All who had spread terror in the land of the living are slain, fallen by the sword.

24 “Elam is there, with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword. All who had spread terror in the land of the living went down uncircumcised to the earth below. They bear their shame with those who go down to the pit. 25 A bed is made for her among the slain, with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are uncircumcised, killed by the sword. Because their terror had spread in the land of the living, they bear their shame with those who go down to the pit; they are laid among the slain.

26 “Meshek and Tubal are there, with all their hordes around their graves. All of them are uncircumcised, killed by the sword because they spread their terror in the land of the living. 27 But they do not lie with the fallen warriors of old, who went down to the realm of the dead with their weapons of war—their swords placed under their heads and their shields resting on their bones—though these warriors also had terrorized the land of the living.

28 “You too, Pharaoh, will be broken and will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.

29 “Edom is there, her kings and all her princes; despite their power, they are laid with those killed by the sword. They lie with the uncircumcised, with those who go down to the pit.

30 “All the princes of the north and all the Sidonians are there; they went down with the slain in disgrace despite the terror caused by their power. They lie uncircumcised with those killed by the sword and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.

31 “Pharaoh—he and all his army—will see them and he will be consoled for all his hordes that were killed by the sword, declares the Sovereign Lord. 32 Although I had him spread terror in the land of the living, Pharaoh and all his hordes will be laid among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

The other mention of Elam occurs in Jer 49: 34-39 but that Jeremiah 49 passage also mentions Edom (southern Jordan) along with Damascus (it's the other major Damascus passage) not to mention Ammon of the Ammonites which is related to the area of Amman Jordan, aka the capitol of Jordan, in Northern Jordan. Kedar and Hazor were fulfilled in the past under Nebuchadnezzar as that part of Jer 49 specifically states, but the others have no such limit on their prophecies.

Jeremiah 49: all except 28-33 which are the Kedar and Hazor passage

1 Concerning the Ammonites:

This is what the Lord says:

“Has Israel no sons?
Has Israel no heir?
Why then has Molek taken possession of Gad?
Why do his people live in its towns?
2 But the days are coming,”
declares the Lord,
“when I will sound the battle cry
against Rabbah of the Ammonites;
it will become a mound of ruins,
and its surrounding villages will be set on fire.
Then Israel will drive out
those who drove her out,”
says the Lord.
3 “Wail, Heshbon, for Ai is destroyed!
Cry out, you inhabitants of Rabbah!
Put on sackcloth and mourn;
rush here and there inside the walls,
for Molek will go into exile,
together with his priests and officials.
4 Why do you boast of your valleys,
boast of your valleys so fruitful?
Unfaithful Daughter Ammon,
you trust in your riches and say,
‘Who will attack me?’
5 I will bring terror on you
from all those around you,”
declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.
“Every one of you will be driven away,
and no one will gather the fugitives.

6 “Yet afterward, I will restore the fortunes of the Ammonites,”
declares the Lord.

A Message About Edom (Southern Jordan including the area of Bosrah - aka PETRA- refers to it's towns, perhaps not the historical site itself but the villages around the area that service the tourist trade there) Note the Terrorism reference in v 16, and the mention of the Red Sea (Egypt again) in v 21. Don't miss the eagles wings over Bosrah in v 22!

7 Concerning Edom:

This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“Is there no longer wisdom in Teman?
Has counsel perished from the prudent?
Has their wisdom decayed?
8 Turn and flee, hide in deep caves,
you who live in Dedan,
for I will bring disaster on Esau
at the time when I punish him.
9 If grape pickers came to you,
would they not leave a few grapes?
If thieves came during the night,
would they not steal only as much as they wanted?
10 But I will strip Esau bare;
I will uncover his hiding places,
so that he cannot conceal himself.
His armed men are destroyed,
also his allies and neighbors,
so there is no one to say,
11 ‘Leave your fatherless children; I will keep them alive.
Your widows too can depend on me.’”

12 This is what the Lord says: “If those who do not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, why should you go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, but must drink it. 13 I swear by myself,” declares the Lord, “that Bozrah will become a ruin and a curse, an object of horror and reproach; and all its towns will be in ruins forever.”

14 I have heard a message from the Lord;
an envoy was sent to the nations to say,
“Assemble yourselves to attack it!
Rise up for battle!”

15 “Now I will make you small among the nations,
despised by mankind.

16 The terror you inspire
and the pride of your heart have deceived you,

you who live in the clefts of the rocks,
who occupy the heights of the hill.
Though you build your nest as high as the eagle’s,
from there I will bring you down,”
declares the Lord.

17 “Edom will become an object of horror;
all who pass by will be appalled and will scoff
because of all its wounds.

18 As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown,
along with their neighboring towns,”
says the Lord,
“so no one will live there;
no people will dwell in it.

19 “Like a lion coming up from Jordan’s thickets
to a rich pastureland,
I will chase Edom from its land in an instant.

Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this?
Who is like me and who can challenge me?
And what shepherd can stand against me?”

20 Therefore, hear what the Lord has planned against Edom,
what he has purposed against those who live in Teman:
The young of the flock will be dragged away;
their pasture will be appalled at their fate.

21 At the sound of their fall the earth will tremble;
their cry will resound to the Red Sea
.

22 Look! An eagle will soar and swoop down,
spreading its wings over Bozrah.

In that day the hearts of Edom’s warriors
will be like the heart of a woman in labor.

A Message About Damascus

23 Concerning Damascus:

“Hamath and Arpad
are dismayed,
for they have heard bad news.
They are disheartened,
troubled like the restless sea.
24 Damascus has become feeble,
she has turned to flee
and panic has gripped her;
anguish and pain have seized her,
pain like that of a woman in labor.
25 Why has the city of renown not been abandoned,
the town in which I delight?
26 Surely, her young men will fall in the streets;
all her soldiers will be silenced in that day,”
declares the Lord Almighty.
2 “I will set fire to the walls of Damascus;
it will consume the fortresses of Ben-Hadad.”

(This passage above fits with Isaiah 17)

(SKIP AHEAD PAST the fulfilled bit re Kadar and Hazor)

A Message About Elam

34 This is the word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, early in the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah:

35 This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“See, I will break the bow of Elam,
the mainstay of their might.

36 I will bring against Elam the four winds
from the four quarters of heaven;
I will scatter them to the four winds,
and there will not be a nation
where Elam’s exiles do not go.

37 I will shatter Elam before their foes,
before those who want to kill them;
I will bring disaster on them,
even my fierce anger,”
declares the Lord.
“I will pursue them with the sword
until I have made an end of them.
38 I will set my throne in Elam
and destroy her king and officials,”
declares the Lord.

39 “Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam
in days to come,”
declares the Lord.

Not totally sure. I don't like to be too cut and dried with prophecy, I see things as probabilities. I rank them this way.

Probability is that IF Isaiah 17 and Ezek 32:17-32 are pre trib (pre OR post Rapture) then Pre Trib wins. I see these passages as a group.

Another IF- if these are precursors to the Ezek 38 event. And that aspects of them such as Jer 49:6&39 are fulfilled into the Millennial kingdom.

so that is my main view

BUT

Remote possibility (in my view anyway) but still possible is that they occur after the Trib and before the Millennial kingdom (with the exception of such future looking verses as Jer 49:6&39.)

Am I overlooking something that I haven't seen or considered, to move things differently in my understanding? I don't have your extensive knowledge base of the original languages and I may be missing aspects of past fulfillment that I just haven't understood. Not to mention the views of other theologians on whether these passages were fulfilled in history.

You've clarified lots of passages in the past for me Adrian, I'd love it if you shed more light here. I'm not cut and dried. Open to further input to change my views.

Certainly right now all I am looking for is these people groups mentioned to somehow be part of the conflict IF we really ARE looking at fulfillment here. Because all of them should put in an appearance in this conflict if that is so.

I'm wondering if they put in appearances at different times during a prolonged war- sort of how we've seen the Gaza thing rumble along over 2 years. Progressively appearing and fulfilling their parts.
