A local community center in Nashville is open for shelter for residents living near the Nashville City Reservoir and in the surrounding area.

In a social media post, Washington County IL Emergency Management Agency, said: "Attention The Failure of the Nashville dam is imminent. Please evacuate your home at this time. If you are in the grey box [risk zone], you need to evacuate now!"

Nashville, Illinois is well south of us. In fact it is Southeast of St Louis. The dam did overtop, along with a secondary dam. Many houses were flooded. One person needed to be rescued from her house, but there were no fatalities. I read that hundreds are in emergency shelters. We need to pray for those people. Not sure whether they had flood insurance. But it will be a huge mess to clean up for many of them when they get to return home.
