IAEA board declares Iran in breach of non-proliferation obligations

Almost Heaven

Well-known
The United Nations’ nuclear watchdog agency has found Iran in breach of its nuclear obligations for the first time in 20 years, according to a copy of the adopted resolution seen by The Washington Post. Iran responded with a statement condemning the move as politically motivated and “unjustified, groundless and cruel.”

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolution cited “undeclared nuclear material and activities at multiple undeclared locations” in Iran that constituted noncompliance and prevented the agency from being able “to verify that there has been no diversion of nuclear material required to be safeguarded.”

According to an Iranian state media readout, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Tehran will “take appropriate measures in response to this action to protect the interests and rights of the Iranian nation” and its “peaceful nuclear energy.”
The Thursday vote by the IAEA’s board of governors was expected following the agency’s report last month that Iran had amassed further stockpiles of near-weapons-grade uranium. The vote was put forward by Britain, France, Germany and the United States, according to the Iranian readout and the Associated Press.

The fact that he's at the Western Wall does sound like he's praying for God to help him with this decision.

The news has been all over the place about Trump's support for Israel, but actions speak louder than words and Trump's actions have been consistent to ask Netanyahu to hold off, while Trump tries over and over to make a deal with Iran- the same deal that he used to criticize Obama for doing.

I get that Trump doesn't want a war on his watch, he would prefer to be known as a peacemaker, but Iran, Gaza, Yemen, Syria and Turkey not to mention Egypt and Lebanon are making that impossible. This is NOT the same guy that brought peace to Syria and Ukraine by dropping some bombs in the first weeks of his first administration when Syria tested his red line.

Trump's actions towards prioritizing the deal with Iran over support of Israel's need to ensure it's safety plus his actions to put tariffs on Israel right after Israel DROPPED ALL sanctions (and they weren't much to begin with) speaks volumes. Then the increasing closeness to the Saudi's and Qatar (Qatar being a puppet of Iran) along with lucrative property deals and the Qatari Jet "gift".

Netanyahu is in the unpleasant position of wondering how much support he can count on from Trump if not risking outright anger for doing something without Trump's blessing.

I think we are seeing the process of God pulling the supports out from under Israel, to get them to turn to HIM and HIM ALONE!

For all the good words that Huckabee says, the fact is that Trump's support for Israel's action to stop a threat to their very existence has been fading. The entire world has seen that and it's emboldened more anti semitism around the globe.

Regardless of who does and says what, the other stark fact remains that God has seen fit to restrain this strike for the last almost 2 decades now.

I recall them ready to go take out Iran's nuke ability in the early Obama years, and Obama telling Israel to stand down, they'd fire on Israeli planes en route to Iran.

If Netanyahu holds firm (and I hope he does) and follows thru with a serious attack on Iran (not like the one last year which Biden got Israel to water down) then he might actually deal with the nuclear threat that Iran is holding over the heads of the entire world

Trump admits Israel strike on Iran ‘could very well happen’ soon

WASHINGTON — An Israeli strike on Iran’s aboveground nuclear sites “could very well happen” soon, President Trump told reporters at the White House Thursday.

The president spoke after reports circulated late Wednesday that the Jewish state was getting ready to conduct operations to prevent Tehran from obtaining an atomic weapon.

“I don’t want to say imminent,” Trump said of the possibility of an Israeli attack, “but it looks like it’s something that could very well happen.

On Wednesday night, the president had confirmed that some US personnel were being moved out of the Middle East ahead of the potential Israeli strike.

“Well, they are being moved out because it could be a dangerous place, and we’ll see what happens,” Trump told reporters before attending a performance of “Les Miserables” at the Kennedy Center. “But they are — we’ve given notice to move out. We’ll see what happens.”
