The truth is that a person sends themself to Hell by refusing to accept God's offer of forgiveness and righteousness. That just shows how powerful the flesh is --human nature, the ego, the sense of self and self will,, and the right that we ourselves can judge what is good and what is evil-- that so many reject God and His Word regardless of the consequences, thinking that somehow they can make it to heaven on their own.
