High fire danger across Oklahoma Friday

DEWEY COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – A Fire Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for multiple for counties in Oklahoma.

According to KFOR Meteorologist Aaron Brackett, the fire and wind threat has increased due to fast winds and dry air. Some areas have limited visibility on I-40 in Weatherford due to dust.

A Fire Warning has been issued for Roger Mills and Dewey Counties. Residents are asked to be aware in case of evacuation. An Evacuation Order has been issued for Leedey and residents are being encouraged to go to Hammon.

Isn't that also in the path of the tornados - tornado alley? That combo of dry brush, wind and fire activity is like a blow torch.

Norman, OK has the most tornadically-active National Weather Service office in the country

Since big enough wildfires generate firenados, we surely don't need regular tornadoes added to the mix. Although the rain would be a blessing and maybe extinguish the wildfires :) God always has a plan :)

Map Shows Impacted Counties as Over 130 Fires Blaze Across Oklahoma

Oklahoma's Department of Emergency Management (OEM) has reported more than 130 wildfires across more than three dozen counties as extreme weather threatens millions of people across the region.

Friday's weather conditions, including high winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation, "came together to produce what may ultimately be a historic wildfire event for Oklahoma," Patrick Marsh, chief of the science and support branch at the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center, told Newsweek on Saturday afternoon

Over 130 blazes were active throughout the state late Friday, with high winds whipping through the Plains.
Evacuation orders are in effect for several areas across the Sooner State, including parts of Payne, North Lincoln, Creek, and Logan counties.

Fires also broke out in neighboring Texas as a massive storm system is sweeping across the United States. Deadly tornados have killed at least 16 people, according to the Associated Press, with majority of the deaths in Missouri.

32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.
Genesis 18:32, KJV

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:8-9, KJV

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.

1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Psalm 32:1-5, KJV

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 3:20-28, KJV

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:16-18, KJV

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6, KJV
