Hamas says it 'needs more time' to respond to Trump's Gaza plan

Negotiations between Israel and Hamas begin in Sharm el-Sheikh

President Trump arrived at the White House on Sunday and was asked whether he plans to take any action against Hamas.

“Very quickly, very good meetings. The countries of the world surrounding Israel —frankly, Muslim, Arab, and many others— are having great meetings with Hamas. It looks like it’s working. Let’s wait a little while. Very quickly, the meetings seem to be going very well. We’ll see how it goes,” he replied.

He also posted to Truth Social that he was told the first phase of peace plan "should be completed this week."

Talks between Israel and mediators over the hostage deal and ending the war with Hamas in Gaza are set to begin Monday in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

"As part of Egypt's ongoing efforts in coordination with mediators to end the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, Egypt will host two delegations from Israel and Hamas on October 6 to discuss the terms and details for exchanging all Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners in accordance with President Trump's proposal."

Seriously? Talks? Negotiations? ONGOING?
I thought it was settled for Hamas to agree to the already established deal by today, "or else".

The problem with Hamas and Trump is the same problem with a parent and a tired toddler at bedtime.

Limits that are set should be stuck to

OR ELSE

Limits don't matter and the child learns to talk their way out of anything and wear the parent down.

In his first term Trump had no difficulty setting limits and IMMEDIATELY acting on them. That kept Putin from invading the rest of Ukraine, staying within Crimea which they took in OBAMAS term. It also put a stop to the gassing of civilians in Syria.

I was delighted by that, not because I delighted in sending missiles into Syria but because those missiles saved a LOT OF LIVES and brought real peace for the rest of Trump's first term.

This term Trump for reasons unknown -I have no clue why

- seems to go back and forth, threatening harsh actions but then back tracking.

He has flip flopped from support of Ukraine to scolding Ukraine, from threatening Putin to making excuses for Putin. He has sent public signals of reduced support to NATO in Europe, then when Putin begins to flyover and send drones to western EU nations in NATO, there is no particular response other than more threats.

He does the same with Iran- finally helping Israel with the nuclear sites, but had been putting limits on Israel then telling them to go ahead, in Lebanon, Gaza and even telling them they can't "annex" their own Judea and Samaria area aka West Bank.

He's been threatening Hamas for a while and hasn't followed thru with his deadlines.

Meanwhile Russia, Iran and China are continuing to take notes. Their actions after these failed deadlines increase in testing behaviour.

Whether we are talking economic stuff or geopolitics there need to be limits that are set, stuck to and consequences applied IMMEDIATELY.

If Trump's team don't like the bigger consequences that he keeps threatening, then by all means dial it back to something they ARE comfortable with applying.

This is dangerous.

That's why the dems call him TACO Trump.

And I am sorry they do. I don't!

I just want him to get his head up, see what's going on, and be the person I thought he was in his first term, one who saw clearly, acted intelligently and quickly and didn't let the grass grow under his feet.

I suspect he is placing too much trust again in his team,

The first term he had a bunch of RINOS to cope with, who were stabbing him in the back rather than doing a good job.

This time he is more concerned about loyalty and while I get that, I think some of his people are not the brightest lightbulbs around nor the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Witkoff for example, is a real estate guy, on the take with Qatar, not a seasoned diplomat. Kushner is his son in law, on the take all over Saudi Arabia, not just Qatar. Lots I could say there but I won't!

Those 2 are driving the Gaza stuff.

But God is in charge, even in this!

I think the problem with Trump is that he doesnt realize who he's dealing with,...... Islam.
Its in the Koran, to lie and deceive to accomplish their "mission" and their ultimate "mission" is to destroy Israel
You cant negotiate with a religious ideology, because from infancy they are taught to die for their cause as they call Martyrdom.

Good points Margery. Although I would suggest that the grand stand Arabic Tour that had everyone thinking Trump was dissing Israel, turned out to be a very early and startling bombing of Iran. On some levels I think Trumps wants to be misunderstood. Wants to cloud messages. As part of uncertainty about him. I don't believe that always works. But seems to creat a dangerous enough idea about the man to consider.

The other thing that comes to mind is there really is only one shot at this. There really is only one chance for the US to overthrow globalism. We are in that window. And with Trump at the helm it has to work or lets just let globalism rule the world. Too hard to push back against. So that might also explain some of the need to gauge the tension. A way to let nature take its course while not letting it overrun the course needed to overturn the deep state. Without God, an impossible tasks. Plus Trump would see greater landscapes opporutnities. Having a fuller picture of all moving parts might make more sense perhaps. But the only one that would have that is Trump...so...lol...whatever that might mean. Blessings.

White House press secretary: All sides agree that this war needs to end

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Monday that technical negotiations are underway in Egypt involving Special Envoy Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and representatives from all sides of the conflict on US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza.

The talks follow what Leavitt described as a “truly remarkable” development this past Friday, when “all parties” agreed to Trump’s framework to end the war.

“You've seen all sides of this conflict agree that this war needs to end and agree to the 20-point framework that President Trump proposed,” Leavitt stated. “It's an incredible achievement and the administration is working very hard to move the ball forward as quickly as we can.”

Good points also! Globalism is here in force and the window is shrinking.

And you are right about the uncertainty factor, that was working well for him in his first term, however it has to be coupled with action when a threat is given or future threats mean little.

It appears the deadline has changed to
"as quickly as we can".

Yes. I don't like that 1,000 terror prisoners released per each 1 Israeli hostage and touting about it as if it is tough guy negotiations. But that was what it was about a while back, wasn't it? And Trump the water hero of California when in reality it was just a sound stage theatric. Which is kind of gross. Being a super hero for fiction. And Trump has no reason to do that. He can take legit wins and just leave it there. Perhaps as i think about it, fake hero posturing is for the deep state and not us? Like, "This guy is a needy clown...we can take him." Maybe something like that? So they don't know who they are dealing with? A bit complex if true.

In any event i just wanted to add something. But yeah i don't have a good reason for too much of Trump hard stance, gummybear stance. Other than confusing the enemy. But in the midst it also emboldens others. I agree Margery. Not sure how to parse that out. But here is something I do see as a trend with Trump. AND if my particular view is correct, it would have to be like this. That Trump gives a ton of chances for others to do the right the thing. It is necessary one of his stature in "I will fully reorganize everything with authorities strength and power" to be benevolent. Almost to an embarrassing degree. So it is clearly etched within the social fabric along the way. This is have seen Trump do on several occasions. And could explain some of the hesitant thinking on his part. Although he is quick to slap one if out of line (known for not having a thick skin), I believe the irony here is beneath that, he has incredibly deep skin when its raw reality on the line and not just his pampered image. Which is an unusal mix in a person to say that least. lol. But worthy I believe of mention. Blessings.

It would seems if from talks timelines change then there is a good faith sense to the reason lines were drawn in the sand. Ultimately, we will have to see :)
