Halley’s Bible Handbook

Andiamo

Hanging on to the Throne
Picked up the 1965 version of this at a thrift shop. People on Amazon describe this as a must have, and they absolutely love it. I don’t think it gives much information at all. ? Pretty much the same information I can find in the back of my Bible. Am I missing something?

It's a good basic handbook for people who don't yet know the Bible. There's nothing in depth in it, but nonetheless it's a useful tool for the beginning Bible student. It gives overviews of all 66 books and information on the characters and situations, customs, etc. But once a person has the basics, there are far more useful tools available.

Still, it has its place; I will not disparage it. At one time a long, long time ago Halley's had a valued place in my --at that time-- limited library. But then it fell into disuse and, somehow, disappeared a number of years ago.
